It seems like a LOT of coats have been retired all of a sudden. Does Howrse sometimes go through and retire coats - just to free up space, or is it always the decision of the coat creator. (Other than situations of copyright violation, of course.)

Hello my fellow collector's!!! Yes, there were about 15 or so Retired yesterday.....it took a few hour's, but I have my collection updated now, if you have time, look through them to see them all....LOTS of paint coat's, a few of the orage flame one's, the green nature coat.....too many to list--I have a retired collection under every tab, they are listed 1st (except under other, they are a few page's in) all listed as Z *name RETIRED Now that I have bought so many===I am Howrse poor----just as in real life...lol I am willing to do trade's or sale's if you like something!! Have fun & Happy Hunting!
Maranatha----my understanding is yes---they can retired them randomly too. Usually it's a retired breeder or a breeder choosing to pull them. |

|
how do i know if coats are rare or retired??
i have dozens of GA horses.... can anyone help? thanks! please pm me!

You can't get a black pearl... they are only available through the black market at certain times and they are not an item you can keep to use later, you must use them at the time.

Jaguar,
Can you provide some official information on the retiring of a coat? With the many that went away this week, it's caused me to wonder. When the creator wishes to retire a coat, how do they do it? Do they have a button they push, or . . .? And when they initiate the process, does it happen immediately, or does it happen at some set day in the future when howrse makes an update and pulls all the retirees? Does howrse make the decision to retire coats for other than copywrite violations? If so, how are the coats selected? Those that are the oldest? Or that have been used often or not very much? I'd love to understand the process! |

these one is retired

Since Howrse reserves the right to refuse a coat for any reason and for understandable reasons won't expand on that, I doubt we're going to get detailed information on why they deactivate coats. I would imagine most are copyright violations, especially if the coat disappears from the game entirely.
If the artist wants to disable their own coat, it's just a button they press, but all the horses who already have the coat get to keep it. I believe the coat can be reactivated with the same ease, although not having deactivated any of my coats, I couldn't say for sure.

I am confused... when I click on my horse with Blackwind, it doesn't show (supposed to mean it's retired) but when I search through the coats, it's still available...
