Something tells me the cows we can breed for leather will be more like a crop than something we can actually care for (like calves for the Western ECs). Though I am majorly hoping that Work Horses are real horses we can care for that will offer some benefit for the EC (like the Geyser Divine)

the saddles and other tack on the test server right now are bought, not made

How Great that we have to pick a location before have an idea of gathering resources and what they're for default smiley (o)
I wish we were able to 'try' locations and not having to pick one and change only once..

You are able to have 30 days to "try out" what you want before you must finalize your selection.

This is on prepod in the upcoming news so is valid ( as far as I am concern).

I know - but in the future, we will be able to make our own tack (which would explain the need for a way to get leather)

And thanks Spyder...must have missed it when looking in the preprod news

I'll say (found a spider in my bathroom sink a moment ago) - not that I mind, I like Spiders default smiley ^)

That aside, the current time line says the next batch will come out later this month (I give it another week or two), so my guess is once that batch is released - the time line here will switch to the one you posted. So it's not that far in advance that we know

Oh thank you! I misunderstood, I thought we could choose one location once in 30 days, and then change once default smiley :p Trying out is much better default smiley :) Thank you!

I wish I had it that easy ~ my center is *quoted from my page*;

a peaceful place nestled in the middle of nowhere special

The image on my presentation page shows both a Mountain and Forest - both which are peaceful in my opinion...

About the only thing I'm sure of is that I'm not choosing Beach default smiley :$

It would be awesome if you could change your location once in a while..
I can imagine if you're dedicated to breeding a certain breed you choose the EC location to fit to your breed. (for instance mountain is really good for akhal tekes)
But what if you switch breeds some day default smiley :o

Actually I hope we know more about the resources and what you can do with them, and if you're able to acquire the other two types of resources in the store so that you're not too dependent on your own location.
I just hope we have more information than we have now before we have to choose default smiley :$

yeah me neither (probably). Not interesting for blupping and not that much helpful in skilling since you need the other skills anyway too default smiley :p and I really can't imagine what Sand will be used for default smiley xd

In the real world sand is a very bad thing for the health of a good hoof. You know, sand cracks and such..default smiley :-x

Okay, so for the locations of Mountain, Beach, or Forest for EC's...we can change them when we want to right? I don't paticularly like one more than the other and it would be nice to switch them around at least once a month or something...?
Retired breeder wrote:

Well, let's see - what could sand be used for;

If meadows still flooded - Sand could have been used to make sand bags to stop flooding

Sand could also be turned into:

glass
sandpaper
cement/concrete
some sort of soap for cleaning, or polish (I have a soap made with pumice, so similar idea)

I'm sure there are more possibilities - but these just came to my mind almost instantly

If you are into that kind of thing - it's tempting. But as one who only breeds for fun (as evidenced by the majority of horses I work with) and prefers to focus on making her center the best it can be for all (without restrictions)...you can see how the Mountains/Forest would be better for me [as I feel things like Wood and Iron will play more of a large part in production than Sand]

Taken from the preprod time line;

Click to display
Mountains, beaches and forests have been added

You will have 30 days to pick a location for your equestrian center: mountain, beach or forest.
You will have the option of changing your mind and picking a new location with the next update. The location will then be final.

From what I gather - it seems that

Click to display
once the 30 day 'trial' time is up - you will need to decide the final location of your center (sort of like how you must choose English or Western and are stuck with it)

@ShorahNagi

Concerning the EC changes-

Oh, okay. Thanks for the info. Are there any perks of the different various locations?
If choosing the mountain, I could then sing "I am a dwarf and I'm digging a hole, diggy diggy hole, diggy diggy hole ... " default smiley :d

Not to mention that horses who are raised in areas with sandy soil often end up with sand colic at multiple points in their lives - they end up swallowing sand with the grass they pull up, and it blocks their stomachs. Bad news for horse owners. default smiley :s

I don't think I'll be doing a beach EC. Trying to decide between Mountain and Forest.
