Welsh or Australian pony maybe?
By Retired breeder, 11th July 2019 15:57:33
@lovetopaint- your selle×trotter would be interesting to see!
Almost BLUPped Angelic Pretty! Just waiting for her to get the 20 wins.

What should I breed her with next? Maybe something with a good gallop & trot?

@cheer4always that's a really neat horse! I Still don't know what Angel will be good in, looks like it'll be dressage though default smiley :)

I think my horse might be the first one with at least 2000 in all skills... couple months late posting but I'm pretty pleased!

Here it is!

I have a lusitano x peruvian paso mare. Does anyone think that if I crossed with maybe a thoroughbred that it would have really good dressage, trot, and gallop to win rosettes (if it has a high enough GP?
By Retired breeder, 12th July 2019 00:16:53

Dressage needs to be at least 4000 to even see rosette comps, tb and Paso have decent dressage skills but nothing on the lusitano, it might work with tears (depending on gp of course) but if you want to do dressage you might want to cross back to a lusitano. The lusitano half kills speed so trot/gallop comps wouldn't be a great choice. How about western competitions? Reining, trail, or western pleasure might be a good fit depending on skills/gp. Maybe a gypsy cross with a western focus?
By Retired breeder, 12th July 2019 00:38:25

Huh, I never though of that. I even have a lusi x gypsy cross foal already. I'm not as experienced with western disciplines but I'll sure give it a go. Thanks
Quite surprised with my newbie in which I bred just as an experiment...

Capsicum 50.3% Arab 49.7% Selle

Surprised because... this Arab just won a show jumping rosette! default smiley xd I should've expected it by bumping up the jumping skill with the Selle, but I thought it's 'background' skills as it were would be too low for this. Apparently not default smiley (lol)

I absolutely love her! Personally I would try to cross her with a reining breed or gallop breeds- you could end up with a great cross! (I'm also working with a lot of reining horses atm so I'm a little biased lol)
Oh, thank you Bandito15! That's awesome! I've hardly tried any Western competition horses. I'll definitely try doing that! default smiley :d

If anyone is looking to try a cam cross, let me know! I've got a pair of fully blupped ones you can use if you'd like.

Speaking of reining crosses, I'm very happy with my Friesian/TB! Almost fully trained!

I love it!! What do you plan on crossing with?
By Retired breeder, 17th July 2019 20:23:38
Does anyone think a lusi x friesian would be successful in dressage comps?
@Bandito not sure yet. I was gonna say another 50/50 cross focused on show jumping. Since Cheng Jun is a male, and Morgan is his 2nd listed breed, the foal should also be a Morgan, right? default smiley :)
