Only Blup and GP of the parents affect the foal, not skills. So you don't need to train the non top 3 skills at all if you don't want to.

Out of curiosity, is there a limit to how many breeds show up under Origins? Like if I just keep crossing with different breeds could I eventually have a foal who's a little bit of everything?

You can have all the light horse and pony breeds in one horse, but only the 5 highest breed percentages will show in the genetics

Hi everyone.

I would like to ask a question with regards to breeding for Classical riding - Showjumping.

I have been trying to breed KWPN's for quite some time now, but am thinking of crossbreeding if that will possibly aid me in producing foals with higher GP, much better skills and a better chance at winning rosette comps.
My horses are in the Favorites KWPN Batch breeding farm.

Is it a viable option to crossbreed for the above mentioned reasons?
And with what breeds should I crossbreed to reach those goals, as well as maximizing Jumping?

Any input is much appreciated.

Of course it's a viable option! A lot of people cross for the very same reasons!
As far as your best options, you'd be looking for any breed with the same top 3 skills as KWPNs (speed, dressage, and jump) Those are Morgans, Selles, Shetlands, and Australian ponies.
As for rosettes specifically, I know there are a LOT of people who cross KWPN/Selle horses for jump rosettes, as those two breeds have some of the highest GPs in the game.

kwpn dominant kwpn/selle crosses do great in breed only rosette comps. But you'd need access to a pretty high gp kwpn. Not sure how high selle gp is in sales right now, they were pretty close to top awhile ago when they were in the crazy gp race, but I haven't checked in awhile. And kwpn is quite a bit lower than top.

Hiya all! Does anyone know of anyone who is breeding low GP Newfoundland cross ponies these days?

I'm looking for some potential crossbreeding partners for a few different breeds. I am primarily working with 4 at the moment:

↪Iberian Warmbloods-- [PSH or Lusi] + [TB or KWPN]
↪Anglo-Arabs-- TB + Arabian
↪Danish Warmbloods-- TB + Trak
↪Walers-- QH + [TB x Trak]

I'm also in the process of starting 4 other projects. 2 of which are other varieties or Warmbloods, and the other 2 are separate breeds.

Please note all of the crossbreds I do are *actual* breeds or are generally accepted as a verified cross in the "real world". None of them are random crosses bred for skills in the rankings. I breed purely for fun but I focus on improving GP as well. Skills are not a concern to me, therefore please don't contact me if you just want to breed for skillers.

If anyone is interested, please let me know!

Also: several of these breeds, such as the Waler, is not bred intentionally on Howrse because they are not well known at all, even rare in the real world. That being said, please don't take my idea of breeding them and run with it, trying to "one-up" my program in a sense. If you want to breed them, please join me instead of going against me. This helps progress faster and alleviates any potential quarrels as well

Hey could I get some help on a question I have?

When breeding horses that are each equally 50% one breed, and 50% another breed, what breed will the foal be?

Two French Trotter horses that are each 50% French Trotter and 50% Curly are repeatedly producing Curly dominant foals. I am wondering if it is possible for them to produce French Trotter dominant foals, or if for some reason will these two horses continue to only produce Curly dominant foals?

When there is equal percentage parentage, what determines the breed of the foal?

I have a Selle Francais mare that I am wanting to breed. I'm weighing up between covering her with a stallion of the same breed or a KWPN stallion.

I am new to this thread and to cross breeding. I am currently trying out a Selle Francais and Gypsy Vanner cross which has produced a decent foal with just over 10k in skills.

Two horses that are equal percentages of the same breed will produce a foal that takes the dam's last listed breed, which sounds like is what's happening with your foals.

I've been focusing in purebred Lippizan for a bit now. They have done very well in open SJ comps which led me to consider crossing them with either a Selle or KWPN. I was wondering if someone has already tried this cross, and if so, how did it turn out?

As Legacy said, you can have all breeds in a horse's lineage, but only the top 5 will show.

Example, my old 'all breed project'. If you go waaaaay back in their lineage, it'll have just about every horse (excludes drafts and donkeys for obvious reasons).
