HellOw!

If you like to cross-breed, this is the place for you!

On this topic, you can discuss your crossbreeding programs, share your secrets, and advise other players about it.

Compare different crosses with the ones from other players, and brag about your achievements in crossbreeding.

It's not allowed to advertise horse sales!

The forum rules and the game rules also apply.

Have fun sharing!

So... My friend convinced me to try cross-breeding. My best Gypsy Vanner mare is ready for her next covering but I have no idea what to do to get a good foal. What would be a good breed that wouldn't make a foal with bad skills/genetics?

That depends on what you're breeding for. Until you know that, it'd be impossible to suggest a breed. default smiley :p

Excited to work with This guy.

Very much a "Let's see what I get" cross, out of the blue and not much thought to it.

I'm also willing to offer free/discounted coverings from his sire if anyone would like to add quality arab blood to any of their crosses default smiley (y)

Accidently bred my Gypsy mare too a Russian Don cross instead of a pure. Oh well. Guess that was a bit of a waste default smiley xd. Not sure what I'll do with her now...

I wanted to compile a list of quirky cross breeding projects that aren't focused on making the rankings or winning comps. Just projects that are for fun or to try something different. Some of these I've done already and some I've heard other players mention and have yet to try myself, but I hoped you guys might have some other unique cross projects to suggest, or maybe a twist on one I've got listed heredefault smiley :)

-all breed cross bred(from original foundations)
-all genetics over 1000 GP
-flip the skills(example: a dressage, jump, stamina purebred will become a speed, trot gallop cross)
-all round/even genetics
-real world crosses

I cross for the heck of it. Not for ranks. I started crossing as a way to create EC boosters for some reason which explains the affix. But, I fully blup/bold and breed each mare twice. Once to raise top skills, once to raise lower skills, then they're available for custom foals.

So my GPs are around 2000-2600 right now. The more I retire, the more I work and the better chance I have at getting even higher. I have a lot of TB blood though. I also have a secret 4 way project I'm about ready to start breeding on. I gotta come up with a spread sheet for it...might need a hand with that default smiley xd

What type of spreadsheet are you looking to put together keepsake? I'm not an expert by any means, but I can do basic stuff...and probably some other things if I google itdefault smiley (lol)

Basically just an idea of exactly who to breed to who to get a certain result. Shouldn't be too tricky...I hope.

I'm planning to breed a KWPN to a Knab to see what happens - hopefully the foal will be good at cross country!

So I wanted to experiment with other arab crosses using my old team blups that were sitting stagnant. I wound up with this girl here . I'm excited to test her out and she has a twin if anyone may be interested.

I also own her sire and dam if somebody would like to make use of them in their own future endeavors.

Hi everyone. What would be some good breeds to cross with my Welsh mare?

Okay guys, show me your Freisian crosses?
Would anyone like a cover from This horse ?

I had a long leave of cross breeding and Howrse in general, though now I've hopped back in the train with Vanguard! His poor twin Vendetta is being left in the dust because I haven't the resources to train them both up :')

Honestly this cross was just so extremely awkward, I have no clue why I thought it would be a good idea aha. The poor thing's highest skills don't have a competition to match them! x'D Though I will say Vanguard does very well in competitions, and is doing fantastically in breed only!

[*url=http://www.howrse.com/elevage/chevaux/cheval?id=51555455]Pieces of Eight[/url*] has made it to #1 in speed for the Nokata breed. I'm going to be offering covers for cheap if anyone is interested in a good trail competition stud. default smiley :)

So happy with the outcome of this horse I recently bred.

I'm not really into cross-breeding that much but thought I'd give it a go. Quite happy that I managed to win a rosette too on such low GP! default smiley (b)

Referring to my post from yesterday, would a thoroughbred stallion be a good cross for a Welsh mare? What other breeds cross well with the Welsh?

Your horse is a great horse! I was looking at his page and was wondering why is hasn't fully blupped yet even though he's bolded and won more than 20 comps.
