cross breeding is interesting as the horse turns out as the same breed as its sire
If anyone is on . . . I have two crosses.

The male is a double cross . . . paint and quarter. He is 16 stars but only has 3 areas of stars, Speed, Dressage & Gallop. His lesson skill will be Speed and Dressage.

I just scanned through my Other horses and found a filly that though she is a 5 way cross, is also 16 stars but only in Speed, Dressage and Gallop. I think her crosses are welsh, TB, etc.

Both of them, the stars are equally divided among only the 3 skills with him having an extra in Speed and her having the extra in Dressage.

They are both classifieds as Paints. If I breed them, once bluped/bolded, will I strengthen the 3 skills or will the "background" pop up and add unwanted stars to unwanted skills?

Congratz Cherokee or Oz. Whomever it was. default smiley (lol) Oh well, that is still an amazing horse. I have started my crossing over. I have decided to do Chinco TB crosses. I know, kind of strange, but I own one and he isn't too bad, though he is just a foal. More on him later.

Congrats Lynn! hehe My best so far should be number one on connie dressage tomorrow but he is almost 25lol. ALthough I have a couple folas who should easily beat him out.
ALso on the breeding.. unless it is the initial breeding ,, the horse does not always reflect the stallions breed. If you have 2 50/50 horses there is still that chance that the foal will not be the sires visual breed.
CrmedelaRouge won two races, and bolded speed at 201! default smiley :d

MareyPony:

My understanding of crosses is that the majority breed "shows". So if both parents are majority paint, and different crosses otherwise, the foal should be paint because all the other breeds will be halved.

As for the stars, you can get a good idea by averaging the skills. Just add the two Speed stats together (170+165= 335) and divide by two (335/2 = 167.5) to get the projected skill of the foal. This is only projected because there's a +/- factor but I don't know what it is. Most of the crosses I've bred have come out very close to what I projected.

If you wanted to post links to the horses, that would help a lot, but this should give you an idea of what to expect.

In case of several equal breed crosses the breed of the foal is random! Chosen between breeds of grandparents. So if the foal has 25/25/25/25 it can be any of the 4 breeds.

50/50 crosses take the breed of the father.

Otherwise it's the majority breed or either of the majority breeds.

I encountered the random breed thing once, and learned my lesson.default smiley :(

What about if the father is purebred and the mother is 50/50? The foal woud still be the breed of the father right?
