Started crossing arabians with irish hunters today(Or at least attempting lol).So far ive produced one 19* irish hunter colt with about +140 Inborn Skills. but I do need a higher starred arabian mare .I just really want to see if i can create an arabian with higher dressage skills/potential.default smiley :d
I did once cross an arabian stallion with a Freisian mare - their filly didnt turn out as well i has expected ... default smiley *-) default smiley (lol)

My sister bred her Morgan and gave me one of the twins:

Frisian/Morgan Cross

Born with 221ibs and pretty easy to blup! Now I got to figure out what to breed her to!
Hmmm...if you want to try my stallion What's Dun is Dun. His gallop and speed should help increase your mare's foals but since he is Arab cross the stamina on the foals shouldn't suffer nor should the dressage as it is decent enough lol

I'd like to keep the higher trot, if possible. So, I'm eyeing other crosses that have a higher trot. My sister specifically chose the Morgan because it has a higher trot than the other breeds except STB/Fri.

We have also been talking of creating an arab that has trot in its top 2 skills.

Check out my Snickers...she's not clouded and #3 in Hano/Gallop! default smiley :-)) I'm really pleased with her!
nikita2471, I did that with Welsh, created one that has Trot as one of top two skills. I used both Standardbred and Hackney so that I could have less Welsh in it and still have it considered Welsh. It took 4-5 generations, but I already had some of the ponies BLUPed and ready.

She has yet to win a Trot comp default smiley xd, but does well in Gallop and SJ.

Are arabian/irish hunter crosses easy to blup and train? AI was considering them and i have a few right now that are foals with about 20+ stars but before i get super into it I want to know if its a good cross.
By Retired breeder, 22nd April 2010 22:10:32
I agree with tabby, I would like some help pricing one of my crosses and future crosses. The cross I currently have up is a QH/Marwari with the Marwari showing, he's male and has 9*, 116.69 IBS, and has 625.53 GP before games. Pretty good for a Marwari, and I'm trying to sell him for 2 passes and 500e, but I think I may be overpricing him, suggestions on pricing?
