Ooooh!! Love cross-breeding......default smiley ;)

I work with the Pagan Uprising group...we're quite new but having heaps of fun. We each have our own breed-interests and have been enjoying ourselves mixing and matching to create monster comp horses/ponies.

My interest is cross-bred Newfs...my pride and joy at the moment is residing at the top of the Newf overall Elite board and the jump-board. It's pretty much impossible to keep up with the GP race so I find cross-breeding a great way to challenge my game and keep it interesting.

Thanks for the heads-up somewhere back there on the IH/Paint.....hmm..got one ready to start but perhaps she should go to the back of the queue....default smiley (o)

Anyone know what the issue with that combo is?

I love to cross different breeds with paints to make them excel in speed.
I've bred quite a few Shetland/Paint crosses that look like Shetlands. Their best skills are speed and jumping and they usually win many comps default smiley :)

Like what chickentender said, bluetempest, I'm thinking of doing connies/arabs. I have to get better connies first though, so I'm going to start by doing connie purebreds. (For a little bit.) Then go straight to crossbreeding connies with arabs. Then connies with hunters. default smiley ;)

I was interested in breeding a tb cross.. default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 5th April 2010 18:05:42
I just bred a nice TB/QH cross, but without tears as I can't buy passes default smiley xd She's from 100 BLUP parents, has very nice gallop stats. I'm thinking of having her as a barrel racing comp horse, but what do you think? She's in my O'er the Country Crosses tab. I also have a Hano/Friesian cross foal with stars in all 6 skills that I bred myself. I'm trying to think of what comps I should enter him in for best results. He's currently in my other horses tab. His highest two stats are dressage and jumping, so maybe as a show jumper or cross-country junkie...
Thank chickentender I pmed them. I got other crosses too. Going to experiment with paint crosses and IH cross. 19*Exp Female 729.21 Seems like she could be a nice comp horses.

Hello! I wanted to cross breed and get a good dressage horse for my EC. Which cross would be the best? Ive heard Fresian X Irish?
By Retired breeder, 5th April 2010 21:42:58
Shockey - The two that I would try is Irish Hunter/Freisian and the other one is Irish Hunter/Arabian. Because arabians have high dressage too. default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 5th April 2010 21:49:08
Ok thanks! And which one should be the stallion in both cases?
By Retired breeder, 5th April 2010 21:59:49
Irish Hunter. They are monsters at dressages, and they have monster skills when they are stallions, and trained right. default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 5th April 2010 22:00:19
*dressage* not dressages default smiley :p

Hi
I am not a newbie but I couldn't get on my account ( and I had 200+ days on it ) so I'm gonna try crossing to start out fresh. I'm going to start doing arab X Ih's so if anyone has a breeding group maybe I could join? I have trained many IH and they have been in the elite boards default smiley :)
