In other news...i took my little trip! I couldn't find any new Schleich...was hoping to find some of the new year's models but struck out. But i did get a couple Breyers!

First off, i got the Breyer 2021 Christmas Ornament Eira. Sorry the pic is a little big!

The other Breyer i got is the Traditional called Equidae! The white pinto markings are actually silhouettes of different horse breeds, which are listed on the back of his box.default smiley :)

Hope you like them...i do!default smiley :pdefault smiley :-))

Does anyone have any tips for building Breyer barns and other stuff like pastures, riding arenas, etc?
I wanna do a whole setup but I'm not sure where to start, any advice would be appreciated :00

I own a bunch of Schleich models but no people or anything. I've been wondering if any of the Schleich people have joints (by joints I mean are their positions moveable) I know some don't but just wondering if ANY do? If you could reply ASAP, that would be great thanks! default smiley :d
I do think there are a few people like in sets and such, that can move their arms and legs. But some, including some riders i think (someone correct me if i'm wrong as i don't own too many people) don't have moveable joints.

I got in a few CollectA creatures today!

Click to display
I couldn't afford many, but the Breyer website recently had a sale on CollectA animals, so i picked these three in particular because every other time i've been shopping on the site, these three have been sold out.

I got the Nile Crocodile Leaping. He has a moveable lower jaw, and its kinda fun to see inside lol.

I also got the male African Lion, and i already have the Lioness and Cub, so i needed him to complete the family. But he has always been sold out for some reason!

Last but certainly not least, and still pretty new to CollectA, is the Draft Horse With Cat! I needed this one to join the cute Mare With Terrier i already have. Plus i love the draftsdefault smiley :)

That's all for now!default smiley *-)

I haven't really been checking this forum much lately, I've beens really busy with uni unfortunately. I moved into my apartment last week! My dorm really didn't have much space for models so most of mine are still back home, but I've got a few on display here!

Both of them are made by Nv studios, the horse on the left is called Ghost and I won him in the december auction. The horse on the right was a commission, he doesn't have a name yet. I've also got the horse in my profile picture here with me, Willow! Next time I go home I'm gonna try and bring some more horses, but it's a bit difficult because I usually travel by plane.

So I haven't been on here for a while because of school and sport but I did see a comment about building barns and paddock fences. So I would recommend using popsicle sticks for fences, jumps, detailing, and stalls. And for barns I recommend cardboard for the outside and using popsicle sticks for the stalls. Hot glue works best and if you have the resources, you could use plywood instead of cardboard and popsicle sticks. I hope this helpsdefault smiley ^)

I would recommend plywood and wood glue for breyers and for schleich any of those work

Wow! So many new pretties!

My homemade pasture fence of popsicle sticks and cardboard has unfortunately met it's demise, known as my dad's foot... But it was fairly easy to make with some hot glue. I would recommend for basic fences. I should probably try my hand at it again at some point default smiley (lol)

Whilst on holiday I found myself wandering to some independent toy stores. Oh that was a mistake for my bank account... I got the last two sweet treat unicorns I was missing, (first time seeing them in a store!), the Marshmallow Unicorn stallion, mare and foal, the Oldenburger stallion and the new Trakehner foal (he was on his own, and I couldn't leave him).

Congrats on your finds! And sorry about your fences demise! I myself am in a bit of dry spell, which is due to money being tight. I'd be in trouble too if i found a great toy store with such good models!default smiley :odefault smiley :p

im super happy

a friend of mine has a friend in germany so trough him i was able to order about 10 magazines that im missing.

revisiting the site today i saw that the publisher of the horse club magazines is doing a sticker album thing where you try to collect all stickers. it looks okay with about 192 stickers to collect

Wow, that's awesome! I am curious...what exactly do you do with the magazines? Are they the booklets that show available/new Schleich products, or is this some sort of magazine with pictures and articles about horses in general?

Oh goodness, when i was young boy did i love earning stickers lol...sounds interesting!

Cool, I only ever owned one magazine, everytime I go to germany tho I do watch out for anymore magazines but never saw any more, I also just get them for the horses that are with them cause if you wanna get those horses without the magazine second hand you pay a lot more money for them
Btw, that other seller with old horses hasnt responded back yet (its been weeks) so I guess the deal is off? Really wanted those horses so kinda sad

well the magazines themselfs are defenitly aimed at younger girls.

earlier ones would feature schleich crafts, drawing, colouring pages, puzzles and a short story about the foal that came with the magazines.

the new ones are similar. they have a comic about the foal included and a real horse info page that ties back to the foal. a paint foal might have an info page about paints or westernriding. they also often feature posters

i personally look trough them and read the comics/ short stories

I got some Schleich in today, and finally got some of the new ones from this year!default smiley :-))

Just warning you ahead of time, the post is a little longer and the pics are bigger...default smiley (y)

Click to display
First off, check it out! They finally had that Exclusive Saddlebred mare that i was talking about trying to get last year but they were always out of stock! I was surprised to find they had more in! Now i have the pair, since i already had the male Saddlebred Exclusive. I don't really expect others to remember me talking about it last year lol, but it was a pleasant surprise for me.default smiley :)

I also got the new Icelandic Pony stallion and mare!default smiley :d

Stallion

Mare

Next up is the Afghan Hound...i'm a little disappointed in how small this piece is, since the dog breed is not a small breed. The curled tail is cute though!

Also cute is the next one, the Ragdoll Cat...it has some very blue eyes!default smiley 8-)

The last one is one you guys would not have seen coming from me...one of these models is not like the others!default smiley xd

Its the Schleich Fire Bull, from the Eldrador world line! No, i don't collect these, and no i don't have any other pieces from that line. So surprise! I just thought this one's picture looked neat, and decided i would use it as a conversation piece. If someone where to look at my collection, this big beast would stand out and draw their eye, getting their attention. They might say, "What is that?" At that point i could tell them about all the different worlds/lines Schleich has. I have to admit though, i am a fairly private person who does tend to have people in my small private apartment often. So it stands to reason i won't have many inquiries about it...but you never know right?!default smiley xd Anyway, here he is...

Oh! And i can't forget the little freebie thank you gift they sent me! No, it wasn't another mini spinosaurus...thank goodness! I was getting tired of those lol. Nope, i got a duplicate Malteser mix pooch...which is fine cause the painting style is a little different between the new and old onedefault smiley :) Wish i could see which country(ies) they were made in on the belly!

Fin, for now.default smiley (m)
