Yep, i have some of those too!default smiley (l)

Guys, guess what! I was flea market shopping today, and i found Schleich! In two different stores! Well actually three, but the third one was a store called Home Base, and they were brand new there, but it was older models so i had them all already so i didn't buy any lol. But i got a total of four from two different flea markets, three at one, and one in the other. I got two horses:

A pinto stallion from 2007, which i had already, but i couldn't pass up a flea market find lol, plus theyre just pretty! Besides, i wasn't sure if it was a custom or not, and when i got home and looked at my original one, the paint jobs were very similar, and yet at the same time obviously different. In the end, i came to the conclusion that it is NOT custom, it must just be a different Schleich employee painter/paint job and slightly different because it would be pretty hard to get them all exactly the same (naturally lol).

Next up is a 2008 Arabian stalliondefault smiley :) Wasnt for sure if i had him or not, but he was a duplicate as well i found out. No matter, he's in really good shape (much better than the scuffed one in the picture)! And im a sucker for the models like both of these horses that came out years prior to when i started collecting.

I also picked up this one:

Click to display
its a 2009 female kangaroo and joey. Another duplicate, oh well one can never have too many cute kangaroos, right?! ha ha.

And last but certainly not least, is what i consider my best find of the day (and the only non-duplicate lol):

Click to display
Its a 2006 female Dromedary Camel! The camels (Dromedary is one hump, Bactrian is two humps, and Schleich has made both) were retired before i started collecting, and were notoriously difficult for me to find and get a hold of. They were rare, and when they showed up, were too expensive for me to buy. Eventually, i managed to pick up a darker colored, two humped male Bactrian camel, and later, a baby two humped Bactrian that was lighter in color and came out a couple years after the adult. I am not sure how many darker or lighter families have been produced, so im not sure if they were made to go together as a family, because the baby is so much lighter. But they are both two humped so i pretend they are family ha ha. Anyway, now i have a one humped mama! And yes, i am aware that Schleich now has a brand new Dromedary camel model out, which i will be sure to pick up when i find it.default smiley :) And hopefully someday, i'll land the old Dromedary baby. Im not sure if there is a new camel baby this year along with the new adult or not...? Anyway, because i've had so much trouble in the past trying to collect the camels, i was most excited about this find today.default smiley ^)

Im sorry the pics are so big!default smiley :s

Here are the other camels i have, for reference, just since i talked about them!

The male:

And the baby (notice the darker and lighter colors lol):

Breyer is great too, but Schleich is cheaper and sturdier...i leave my large Breyers in their boxes, not just for value's sake, but to protect them. If a stablemate comes in a box or plastic, i leave them in there too. I love both Schleich and Breyer!default smiley (l)

Mine are super duper old. Two are a bull and mama cow plus I have one that is even older then the cows it is a stallion paint horse.
I for one am interested in how old you're models are! It lists the year on the undersides of the models, though i'll admit, sometimes its hard to find/read! Let us know if you can read it and what it says!default smiley :d

I also love the schliech dogs they are so good
I like Breyers and Schleich. Breyers has amazing models that are big and small, the coloring and texture isn't the best. Dog hair is always clinging to them default smiley (lol) Schleich only does small models (correct me if I'm wrong), but they don't have dog hair stick to them thanks to the texture they have. Schleich is 1% higher on my favorite horse model companies due to this.

I love both as well, and i like Schleich a little better as they are cheaper and sturdier, and like you said, they have more texturedefault smiley :) And they make a wider range of animals.
