For once I've actually been crafting!

First I went to Hobby Lobby and bought some scrap leather. Then I started skiving. So much skiving. My hands were so sore and I had to sharpen my blade like 5 times. default smiley (lol) But I got the leather where I wanted it. My crafting area looked like a tornado went through it. I'm sure my family thinks I'm crazy when they see all my stuff.
To give my hands a break from skiving I decided to tackle re-doing my blanket of flowers. This is the old one.

Here's the new one. It's not completely cleaned up from the hot glue. But oh well. I'm fairly happy with it. I started on an English saddle. But I hate it. default smiley (lol) Probably going to ditch this one and start over.

And lastly, I used some of my leftover leather to make a halter.

I haven't been crafting much for my Schleich lately, but a new craft store opened nor far from my dad's place, and they have a TON of craft martial for super cheap prices, so I daresay I will be crafting soon! default smiley :d

Awesome Val! I've been here, watching over the topic I guess.... I've been waiting for people to post default smiley :p
When did you guys start collecting schleich? Which horse or animal was your first schleich?
I started when I was six. My mom took me to a family owned toy store and I made her buy me some. My first horses where the old shire foal, old Arabian foal, and old Hanoverian foal. I also got the old zebra and two zebra colts.

I got my first Schleich, the old Tinker mare, when I was 6 or 7, but I really started collecting only a year ago, in fact. When I began to seriously collect Schleich, my first one was the Hanoverian Foal. default smiley (l)
My first was the old pinto stallion, and old old hano mare. I got them for my second grade bday, which was I guess when I was turning 7. 7 years later, and still collecting!

I have no clue when I really started collecting, but my first couple horses will always be special.
I'm just glad I'm not the only one who started at six. I moved away from the store I got my first schleich and hope to go back there some day to see what they have.

I got given my first a while ago now and have enough stuff to fill a real stable! I love the andilusion stallion. One problem I have is that while I have all the stables I don't have enough fencing, anyone know where to get it at a reasonable price? Also blankets and halters...

If you have a Rural King or Toys R Us around you, those are the best places to buy fences. A paddock (meaning around 8 fences and a gate) go for around 10 dollars. Rural King is usually the cheapest and if you go on one of their rebate days, you can usually get a 10% rebate.
Amazon also has a 12 fence set for ten dollars right now.
Toys R Us is the only place around me that sells blankets, but my grandma makes them for me so I don't really look often.

Also the schleich rabbit hutch fencing works just as good as the schleich horse fencing.

Sorry another post in a row, but I just though of something. I bought some of my fences at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. They were doll house fences already painted and everything. They are mad of wood and wire and can bed into any shape. I haven't had any break and they look really good. They resemble white picket fences. I don't know the price, but if you go to either store website, you can print off a 40% off coupon to take to the store. Hope I helped you. I had the same problem with fences and now I have them coming out of my ears. default smiley :d
