The name of the first horse you ever rode
Derby, a bay Arabian stallion! Instructor told me he was finnicky and hot tempered, and sometimes would throw the rider (happened once when I was off and another girl was on). Instructor told me later on that she was surprised Derby and I got along so well because he rarely agreed perfectly with his riders!
We shared a good couple of horse hugs!

I don't remember, as I was 3 or so, I sat on a pony. The first horse I actually rode was a morgan called Justin I believe, when I was 8. Then my first lesson horse was Ashante, a bay Arabian gelding when I was 10 or so. Since then I've rode, leased, and owned other horses.

The name of the first horse I ever remember riding was Stevie. He was an English lesson horse at one of the local barns. I think it was my 7th or 8th birthday and my family surprised me with my first lesson. I liked horses before that, but I was hooked after.

Not sure on the first, but do remember my favourite and the first pony I learnt to use a whip on.
My first own a pony week and I've fallen in love with the slowest pony in the school- Chocolate Lad. At the end of the week we have a gymkhana and the thing I remember is that we had to canter up to the end of the school and back. Bear in mind I was about 7 or 8, the instructor gave me a whip and says "when the whistle blows, whack him on the rump". Whistle goes, I drop my reins, turn around and give this poor pony a hell of a whack, he didn't know what had just happened! We may have been the first ones to the top of the school, but he would not move on the way back and ignored all attempts to get him to move faster |

The first pony I rode was a sweet little chestnut skewbald called Ginger! I have photos of me laughing while riding him, and I’m so thankful to have had such a saint of a pony to start with!

The first horse I rode might have been a small pony when I was 4-5 years old. I don't remember the name, but what I do remember is my sister who worked there let me sit on the pony and accidentally let go and the pony went galloping away!
Another horse I rode was a dapple gray horse that was really nice. I'm pretty sure his name was chip. Now I'm riding yet another pony named Badger he's a beautiful white stallion and is very sweet. I ride western with him and Badger loves to trot. |

Apple - He was an older Appaloosa my best friend owned. I learned to ride a horse with him. He was a calm, sweet boy. He would run up and greet me at the gate the moment he saw me. He was so fun.
