The first horse I took lessons on was named Frankie. He was a black and white Quarter horse who almost nobody got along with. However, the minute I got on him, we bonded, and I know it sounds cheesy, but I cant describe it any other way. Sadly, life got in the way, and I stopped riding, but I'm definitely going to pick it back up!

The first horse I took an english riding lesson on was named Frisco. Like his name suggests, he was a super quick and green pony. I had a really hard time on him as he would try to run away with me, and I didn't really know how to ride yet.

I almost broke my leg on him, when he tried to rush a 3 ft fence. Now that I think about it, it probbly wasn't the best idea to put a green rider on a green horse .

I think the horse I rode in my first real riding lesson was a white pony named Trixie. She was an angel and I loved her very much. She died very suddenly from a colic, about two years after I started riding her. I took lessons on the lunge before, but don't remeber the horses name, just that it was a super cute haflinger cross.

First horse I remember riding was my uncle's bay thoroughbred, Oasis. He sold her a few years later, I think to a riding school. My first riding lesson, I was on a bay pony called Byron. He was fantastic, totally bombproof, but I don't remember riding him much after the first year or so--think I grew out of him.

(First canter was on a grey called Sam. He started cantering, I can't remember if he was supposed to, and I fell off backwards.)

I can't remember the name of the very first horse I ever rode, because I was little. They were doing pony rides. But then years later, when I was eight, I rode a horse again at my 4-H club. His name was Daybreak.

I remember it was at a summer camp when I was like 5 or 6 and I think it was a bay named Emory. I may have ridden before, but Emory was my favorite "first" horse I rode!
