Oof, I'm getting gold and diamonds but they're all duplicates it's feeling. Trading constantly is expensive! I'm pretty sure I'll get viginti though, I think I just need one more gold, and to trade out two diamonds and a gold if I don't stop getting duplicates.

ONLY time I've finished all the cards puzzles for the prize. Probably didn't even need to buy the two packs I did. Funny old world.

Kind of fed up with people in the auctions bidding 100,000+ at the last second to make sure no one without an absurd reserve is gonna outbid them. I understand that you're entitled to bid up to however much you happen to have but when the price suddenly jumps from 27,000 equus to 100,000 equus, it just feels unnecessary. Could less rich players be given a fair fighting chance on at least a few auctions? It's getting to be a bit obnoxious. If you have hundreds of thousands if not millions of equus to spend, I'm going to go ahead and assume you have the passes to buy a few card packs if you need cards that desperately. This would all be fine if it only happened on a minority of the auctions but there is no point participating without hundreds of thousands to spare since some players just go and spam the auctions with 100,000+ equus bids on every card above bronze.

I actually still need 4 more bronze puzzle cards ( but I do have 3 bronze jokers) and 4 gold. I have all the diamond cards and all of the silver cards. I'm trying to be patient with a week left. Hopefully I don't have to buy any packs. I do not plan to participate in sales at all. It is too frustrating and time-consuming. I hope we all get Viginity!

100000 is not a lot of equus. It's easy to get over a million a month from leather alone if you have six large cattle meadows set up with a feed trough, with you making a lot more if you craft with it. Save this up over time and you will have a big reserve. It's also easier to make equus than it is to make passes for the majority. If I was to sell everything in my item stock, I'd probably get 6-7 million equus, but that doesn't mean I am pass rich. I'm only pass rich when I can spare a bit to purchase them, with the majority of those passes going towards the ascent.

My point was that raising the prices of all the cards on auction from 27 000 equus or so to 100 000 and above immediately is obnoxious and aggravating to people who were looking to engage in a normal auction where the price is gradually hiked up until the last person to bid before the timer wins. I do not find it polite to other bidders to make ridiculous price hikes right off the bat.

That aside, this card event is going better for me than I'd initially hoped. One more pack purchase, if I manage the passes for that before the end, along with my daily cards should get me far, though I am unsure about finishing. Will keep up hope and keep an eye out for fairer auctions lol.

There's a 30-second reset on the timer with each bid, so it isn't a matter of trying to get in there before the timer runs down. Even if they'd gradually hiked the price up, you still would have gotten shut out eventually by the person who has more equus than you. Most of the time when people hike the price like that they're trying to save time on an hour-long bidding war where the price ends up at 100,000 (or more) anyways.

yeah, I'm not spending 45 minutes going back and forth with 12 people in 30 seconds increments grinding the price up to 800k from 20k when that's what I know the price is gonna be in the end anyway, I'm just gonna bump it up to a couple hundred thousand and duke it out with the one or two other people that were gonna be going for it in the end anyway. *shrug*

I've got a limited amount of time, and throwing a couple thousand leather at the shop to pay for xyz card with equus every 2 days instead of scrounging for passes by crossing my fingers someone is actually willing to pay passes for drafts and donkey foals right now or whatever.

Those people being polite by saving your time. Why would you want to bid on something for a while and end up out bid anyway? And, btw, timer does not run out on howrse auctions. Every time someone bids it REFRESHES to additional 30 seconds.

I consider it not polite to complain about how players decide to spend their equus and tell them how to play. It's no different than complaining about players boosting the price up into the millions on divine sales in the November sales very early on, despite the fact that those auctions are always going to be expensive.

As someone that has taken part in auctions that lasted 10+ minutes once they've entered the 30 second reset window, I can say it's quite stressful and still ended up very expensive. It wouldn't have made a difference whether or not we started cheap or expensive, as we would have had our own amounts we were willing to go up to. Putting in a high bid early on can stop a big portion of the bidding war during the reset window, so that's why many of us do it.

Love to see people so pressed over a lukewarm take at best.

That aside, being able to trade more than one card per day would be a tremendously helpful feature to implement for this event. Wouldn't even have to be a huge amount, even two or three trades per day would make a difference. Having more duplicates than there are days to trade them feels silly.

I apologise if I came across as 'pressed', but it's just a bit frustrating when we offer our side and explain why players would hike up the price, as well as offer advice on how to save up for these kind of sales, just for it not to be taken into consideration, more or less every time these sales come up.

we aren't "pressed", you expressed quite a bit of frustration at a common play style and like three people tried to calmly explain to you why it happens, especially after your first response. not sure why you're reacting like this honestly?

You'll probably be able to win bronze and possibly silver cards later on towards the end of the event, as those don't go as high and most people will have won all the cards for those levels by then and won't want duplicates.

If you're after gold or diamonds you're just going to need a higher reserve, though. I'm not trying to sound mean, it's just how it is. The equus prices on this server are always crazy high, and the rarer cards aren't cheap. I think even the direct sales prices are over 50k.

just got my first diamond from the comp win! of course it's the staff and not one of the collections though. if I didn't need the divine for basically the first time in the history of these events I'd be happy at that turn of events, but.... default smiley (lol)

fingers crossed I get those last ones soon, I don't want to spend all my anniversary passes on packs...

I actually got Viginti over the weekend but he was not a cheap boy, I was thinking he'd be a little easier to get since Quindecim was basically free and his perk isn't even as good since you gotta do two objectives daily. default smiley (8)

So now I don't know if I'll be doing Black Friday just cause I don't know how much I'll be able to save by then. But we'll see.

You should visit some topics during coat release. One time I saw a mod bashing people for selling (flipping) new limited coats and how undeserving those people are compared to "collectors"

I have seen that too. Somethimes people act like RC release only should be taken by 'GA/RC collectors'. But I use them to make passes to collect Foundies and Divines from the Reserved sale I like.

Think everyone should play the game as they like, we all flip some things.

I cant believe my luck. I had decided to open 2 more card packs this morning which gave me a diamond card that I didnt really want since I already completed all before. But low and behold it popped open to show I got a viginti and a fellabella. Which marked my 3rd pairing of the two divines I received from the cards.
I decided to buy 1 more pack to try for some more BMi items and got the same card and the same pairing of divines making it my 4th copy of each. I wish I had this luck for the rainbow balios.

I think he has been in auctions, unless I'm confusing it with another server. He's gone anywhere from 33-100 million on other servers
