Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Nice! You could do some creative beaching and get the skills nearly even with that one.

That's what I was thinking, equest. Hopefully she doesn't turn out the be a difficult BLUP. Although I'm not too worried when my 3 outdated 4-ways (3400 - 4100 GP) are having no problems getting BLUPed. Two of the 3 (3800 GP and 4100 GP) already have 20 wins and the third (3400 GP) has 14/20.
Can I get a qh foal with both of these horses?

Another suggestion on a breed that seems low in the GP game is the Newfie. I was gunna breed my QH mare to one, but couldn't find anything even above 4000, so I skipped that breed for now and went with a Nokota.

If the horses you are using are the one's above, then the one that needs to be the mare is that which had Quarter Horse listed as the second breed.

So your first listed horse of Quarter Horse/Thoroughbred would be the stallion and the mare being the second with Thoroughbred/Quarter Horse as her breed lineup.

Otherwise if you're breeding from scratch then you'd obviously need to breed a thoroughbred mare to a quarter horse stallion.

Other than that, I'm not quite sure how else to explain it.

Good Lord... I am trying to tear breed today and every breeding my IBS goes DOWN... default smiley (d) The tear breeding faeries are laughing their rear ends off at me right now, lol. So, I will stick with my first teared foal, nearly 40 points off max, but oh well....

This guy is going to be fun!! His Stamina will be 2284 after beaching, not including lessons. default smiley (m)
Selle x Arabian x T eke x Gypsy

He has a lot of siblings if anyone wants one. I had two sets of twins with Hera's Packs. Interestingly enough, the breed order switched around a bunch for all of the foals.

@ equestrienne1979 I'm really interested in the 3rd teared foal you listed above. We can negotiate a fair price via pm if you'd like c:

On a separate note, I'm super pleased with Loon. She's the official "second" generation of my Arabian dominant 50/50 Arabian/Vanner cross. Had some tears lying around and decided to use them and wound up with her being little over 40 points away from max ibs. Closest I've ever had with tears haha

Does anyone have any recommendations for what style of riding this filly should have? Western or classical?

She just started as a test but now I'm planning on bluping and bolding her. I'm new to this aspect of howrse so any advice would be soooo helpful (:

Schmexy - Your success with IH crosses had made me want to attempt one. Would you have any recommendations/ tips for someone who has never touched the breed?
By Retired breeder, 8th October 2016 18:53:51
Thanks HB, i so admire you bringing the breed up to where it should be!

Framing- quite honestly, they are the only breed i can blupdefault smiley :-)) My advice would be try to make a skillset you enjoy, and run with it. So say you like barrels, cross them with something to make that skill set.

surprisingly there are tons of breed only comps for them in all the different disciplines, so you really cant go wrong!

I have a breeding tab dedicated to my irish, so feel free to take a look at them! Mine are usually cross-country horses, but that's there natural skill set with minor changes.
