Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Meet Backwater Rising. I have her twin, Bad Moon Rising, if anyone wants her. Wish I'd teared them now.

I have a 6100 GP Mustang if you can provide a Bolt to bolt her to a stud.

rain- do you do a lot of kwpns? I tired one a little while ago and I struggled to get wins to blup her, so I decided they were not for me. What do you normally comp them in?
By Retired breeder, 19th September 2016 16:09:14

Before my long absence, I did a lot of KWPN/Walkers, but I usually BLUPed the KWPN myself. I usually put them in sj for bolding, make sure they stay in rookies if possible, train up as close to the rookie max in speed, dressage, jumping (without going over), then do the lowest XC and trot comps I could. Sometimes I'd run into trouble, but it partly depends on who's out playing at the time.

If your horse goes over the rookie max while comping in sj, best bet is to train up speed and dressage, do the rides for those, finish sj, train up jump, then go into XC. Although my most recent KWPN got all her wins in sj, so sometimes you get lucky.

I was finally able to pick up a GA for my favorite Irish crossie. I thought it fit his name pretty well, but still not crazy about how the landscape matches it....oh well.

I really like this guy. He ended up being the #1 irish hunter, and he was so easy to get wins on. I truly do love my irishdefault smiley <:o)

Gorgeous, schmexy!
By Retired breeder, 20th September 2016 01:05:06

Thanks, he's definitely one of my favorites. I love my hunters, but I hate how far behind they are. They comp great in breed only comps, but just have no chance when it comes to open comps. At least I don't have to fight hard for rankings...

That's how I always felt doing my "Unpopular" crosses. I had some very easy ones.
By Retired breeder, 20th September 2016 12:02:33
Oh, it's okay for now. I don't need to see what it looks like. Thanks a ton for your help!
Does anyone have a line of 50/50 crosses that contain the *same* 2 breeds throughout? Such as several generations, or at least 3, of Paint x Quarter crosses or whatever other two breeds.

I have a few generations of Morgan x Arabian crosses.

That's perfect! Could I have a link to one, please? I'd like to look at the family tree and genetics as I'm doing some comparisons with breed order in even crosses of the same breeds.

Here you go, bibbs!

Also, please take a look at Soul Charger and let me know your thoughts. He is the Western project your Nokota was a part of. His link is on the previous page.
Thank you for the link Framing Hanley.

I like Soul Charger. Congrats on the Nokota stamina ranking! With that low gallop it looks like he could do really well in low level reining comps.

Check out my Back In Black affix, too. I restarted with new blood, since I was away for a long time, but before that it is a lot of the same lines.

Here is the link if you decide to look, bibbs.
Thank you Khaotic Rain. I'll take a look.

No problem at all. I love my KWPN 50/50s. Gonna start a line of Mustang/KWPNs under the Ꞙɨɍɇ Ɵꞙ Ʉꞥꝁꞥɵⱳꞥ Ɵɍɨǥɨꞥ affix.
By Retired breeder, 20th September 2016 17:56:32
KWPN gypsy crosses are also quite nice
By Retired breeder, 20th September 2016 17:59:05

They are, I agree. I've always had a soft spot for my Back In Black (formerly Butterfly Sunwalkers) Walker/KWPNs, though.
By Retired breeder, 20th September 2016 18:00:18
And here is one of the first Mustang/KWPN babies: Blue Oyster Cult. She also has a twin.
By Retired breeder, 20th September 2016 18:21:11
That Stang/KWPN looks like a lot of fun KR.

Back to comping Legend today. Wanna do another skiller soon, just don't know what I'm going to do yet.
By Retired breeder, 20th September 2016 18:30:47
I think I'm gonna Bolt Oyster to a colt to breed to his twin for the Stang/KWPN lines. Maybe.
