Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Err, coat color is random based on breed, so you can't really pick for colors. Parent and grandparent colors have nothing to do with how the foal will turn out, that part is just sheer luck default smiley (y)

Hackney X Gypsy , I like the way this cross turned out

Anyone have a lustiano or lustiano cross with the main breed as lustiano mare with over 6700 GP. That I could breed my stallion to to get foal?
*cough, cough* Lusitano...not Lustiano default smiley xd Also, nope. Mine have just recently hit roughly 5200.

However, if needed,...I could breed one of my 6700+ Gyp. mares to a Lusi...

Hello, has anyone tried a Fresian X throughbred before? Did it work out well?

Bed Head

I wouldn't know, haven't worked him yet. I have so many backed up crosses, I'd like to retire but still waiting...

I have a couple blupped pure TB horses (6500+) if anyone would like either a cover or a foal.

I'll get a link up soon but my Shagya/QH/Wari turned out to be pretty good.

I've seen a few posts now about crossbreed studs producing certain dominant breeds, depending on the mare they're covering.

Can anyone explain how dominant breeds are selected in equal multi-cross foals please?
Ie. Stud having 25% of four breeds, mare having 25% of four breeds (either same or different).
If you can think of other scenarios where a dominant breed may vary, please include those too. I am looking to begin my next project but for that to happen I need to ensure the dominant breed of the resulting foal.

Thanks in advance.

Thanks. I'll try breeding to a Lusitano when I can. I would like to see how much better one skill can get than all the others.

When I was breeding competitively on one of my old accounts, I remember doing friesian X arabian or Friesian X Gypsy vanner. It was so much fun having a cross country friesian monster.
I'm super pleased with Magnolia. Finishing blupping her and then will look at finding a high GP stud to breed her with.

I'm definitely enjoying myself with this project of mine.
