Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Start an AP farm and have more than that everyday default smiley ;). I think I used about 300 APs today blupping and breeding. I have over 3,200 in stock. Some of my teammates have 10,000-20,000 APs, default smiley (m)

Looks like the skill set is about the same as an Appy but with better jump. What are you goals? You could breed to a Selle x Shetland cross and pray for Appy dominate. You'll get an Appy with killer Jump and Speed and decent Dressage.

So I got a Hera pack and I'm wondering if it's gonna be worth it to spend on the upgraded version of this guy when his parents are 100BLUP. I'm aiming for top TB stamina, but then again...default smiley (lol)

Trying to get two of my mares BLUPPED to try some experiments with
By Retired breeder, 14th May 2016 00:25:22
I got one experiment from yesterday done born. I am pretty happy with it. I will post the link when I get on my computer. I crossed an Argentinian Criollo with one of my vanner mares
By Retired breeder, 14th May 2016 02:54:04
Here he is Darkside
He's Argentinian Criollo breed but he's half Gypsy Vanner.
By Retired breeder, 14th May 2016 19:45:18
How to make my crosses win competitions? I'm not good at it.
By Retired breeder, 14th May 2016 21:41:49
I think my first experiment with Darkside might be to cross him to a KWPN/Thoroughbred mare and see where that goes. I plan to find a 50/50 mare to breed him with anyway so will see what I can figure out for his first experiment.

Pretty much for all my horses, be they cross bred or purebred, I comp them the same way when blupping them. I target train, meaning I'll train the second and third skills needed for the comp, while leaving the primary skill low. The primary skill determines difficulty level, so by keeping that skill low you can still enter lower level comps.

To see the three skills needed for a comp, just look at the large box on the top left of the page when you're entering a competition.
Once my horses get the wins needed, then I'll finish blupping and skilling.

Done. I'm waiting for results. Thank You for help.
I'm thinking about next covering too. There are so many possibilities. XD In general, but @bibbs answer is enough for me. Thanks.
@ sobota-Glad that worked out for you!
If you still have trouble with that method, I'll pick out comps with only 2 entries left to fill, compare the skills of the horses entered against my own, and if my horse has higher skills, I'll enter it along with a "Filler" horse that won't beat my blup. It can be time consuming in real time, but you're not using tons of aging points to age your horse in trying to find wins either.

On another note, if anyone needs ideas for an easy western comper project, I bred this guy and this mare for use as prestige boosters for my EC comp, but found getting wins with them was pretty easy, even with the way I had them trained. The first is an Appy x Thoroughbred and the mare is an Appy x Selle. The Appy/Selle cross might actually do pretty well in classical since jump is its second best skill and pretty high for an Appy.

I like them so much I decided to breed both crosses again to use just for competitions and save the original two for my EC!
