Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Maybe with a Arabian Stallion!!
But I don't think they are that high without them being a gelding

Looking like my boy is going to take 1st in Jumping for Hackney's and 2nd in Dressage. Not too shabby for a random crossing.

I would comp him in trotting races. His low Trot with High Speed and Dressage will allow him to enter into the lower skill races, while still having the edge with the other two high skills.

Going to start Training my new boy, Quick Silver. His mother turned out great, even ranking 113 in stamina for Thoroughbreds. So I have high hopes for this boy. default smiley :)

Oh boy, I'm trying my hardest to finish up that All Breed project of mine. I'm so close, I can taste the sweet nectar of victory.

It has been one busy thing after another in RL, it ain't even funny. First the news of my husband and I needing to move by summer. Then all the heavy rains that it flooded the basement (the area we 'live' in). A good number of hours at work. I'm just ready to lay down and go to sleep for a week or two.

Would a Gv and thoroughbred be good?
I might look at thoroughbred/kwpn to breed to my mare
Any comments

My colt I am training right now is:

Gypsy Vanner 25%
Thoroughbred 25%
KWPN 25%
Arabian 25%

I think he is pretty amazing to be honest.

I'm a tad bit worried I've been overusing KWPN's in my crossbreeding project as I started with a 87.5% KWPN and 12.5 PSH and then I got her daughter who was a 93.8 KWPN and 6.3% PSH who then gave me another filly who was now 96.9% KWPN and 3.1% PSH...

I've just had a heck of a time trying to find a breed that gets significantly higher skills than the mare's I've been breeding. Anyone have a good idea of what breed to breed Ginga with? I'm looking for a breed that will enhance her already pretty high skills in show jumping, speed, and dressage or another horse that could boost her trot, stamina, and gallop a bit more?

I bought a lovely Friesian from sales for 25k. Hopefully tomorrow I can start blupping her and then breed her to start on my dressage project. If all goes well I'll post part 1 tomorrow. default smiley (y)

He did it! My Hackney baby is top of the board for Hackney Jumping and second for Dressage. He also came in 8th for Speed. So proud of him. default smiley (7)

Congratulations! Just out of curiosity, how much will you charge for a covering from him when you fininsh training him?
