Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you
zepharo

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

I'd be very interesting to see any crosses where all 6 skills were almost equal to each other if anyone has one? default smiley :)
I know I tried it a few times on my last account but I could never get them even close to each other default smiley (lol) (Okay, I tried twice then gave up because I didn't have enough aging points to spare on it...)

Also I have a more important crossbreeding question...does the GP of the parents effect(affect?) the outcome of what skills the foal is best in? Because I'm pretty sure it does? When I bred my low GP Haflingers with horses of other breeds with super high GP, the foals didn't even look like crosses, they were practically carbon copies of the higher GP breed! default smiley xd

Sorry if this belongs more in the Game Play, I figured it'd be better here so we could discuss it default smiley ;)

Here are some crosses I didn't post because they were carbon copies of the parent that had higher GP(and I thought that since they weren't interesting people wouldn't care)...but now I figured I should show them to prove the theory...or maybe my crosses just aren't unique default smiley (8)

Hafliner/Marwari (50/50)
Over the Bridge

Haflinger/Gypsy (50/50)
Wobbuffet

Haflinger/KWPN (50/50)
Criss Cross

I would be embarrassed if this is something everyone knows already!!
^^ working out the skills and GP is just maths - if the parents are fully BLUP the foal will have good IBS ( based on 10% of the parents combined GP, with a random factor ) and the GP of the foal will be a rough average of the parents, with a small increase. The distribution of the skills is just an average of the skill of each parent, so you can work out what dressage, trot etc are going to be.

I'm seeing things that would be tempting to try. I wish there was a banking feature on here. I need somewhere to throw my masses and the majority of my equus.

What kind of crosses are you thinking of?
I want to do things with my drafts but they need bluped. Really the only things I have finished are in my don't steal my name tab and my prix horses. A bunch of pure kwpns. And some lusitanos.

High speed and dressage are great for cutting, and for trot/gallop races and show jumping. So there's a lot you could get out of this mix default smiley :)
Hello, sorry if this is against the rules, but if someone could help fill for my Friesian cross mare, Darkest Hour, that would be great.default smiley :)

I'm in competitions of 140-270, all rookie comps.
