Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Cape Cross, my latest Fry/Lusi skiller, has 550 in dressage. Can't wait to move him into my EC, default smiley xd Now to bolt and skill his twin.
What do you guys think of this filly? What would she be good at?

Standardbred x Hano x Arabian..

The Fifth Estate - Awesome horse default smiley ;) Should be an excellent booster for your EC!!

Thanks! Very nice filly you got there, too! I think she'd do good in breed-only cross-country comps, but that's just my opinion. Maybe find a way to raise that gallop?
Ok, thanks.. I didn't really breed her for a certain purpose.. kind of an experiment I guess! default smiley (lol)
Are you going to breed with the twin once it's blupped? Or just use it as an EC booster?

Yeah, I'm crossing the twins. I want to maintain the breed percentages while simultaneously raising GP and skilling EC boosters. Not skilling the offspring, though. I'm BLUPping every three generations and then skilling the fourth. It's part of a long-term breeding plan I've worked out involving them, my GVs and my Arab, and my Mar breeder line. I'm a busy bee, default smiley xd
Oh wow, sounds interesting but a very lengthy process haha! Well, have fun with it default smiley :)

My EC got up to 58e lessons, default smiley xd Can't decide if I start skilling my non-dressage horses now or if I should wait another day to see if it'll go up to 59e. Ugh, I wish my other Vanner was BLUPped so that I can skill my Arab filly now and then breed that GV/Arab cross for the Prix.

Hi Im new at cross breeding, and well i wanna cross my Arab mare with something that will give me 500+ Stamina. Would anyone please PM me if they know which breed is the best to cross with?

Thank you

O and Here is my Arab Ana
By Retired breeder, 5th December 2011 16:59:44
That is a very nice mare you have got there. If you are going for only stamina I would breed to a Gypsy Vanner as they are very popular currently and they have great stamina.

Darn sales!! None of my sales are going and I need the passes for tears. Luckily yesterday I got tons of good foals with tears that I can work on now. My crossbreeding program might be neglected for a little bit as I am in a Gypsy Vanner group and we are trying to jump start our program which is taking a bit. On the bright side with all of these jem Divines running around my ec is only two short of having a sun!

He is nice R.C.P
R.C.P he looks nice, but to get the best foal, the majority of us breed what the parents are 100BLUP as it means that the foal has the best skills to get started with.
I did hit top boards with this I may bolt and send out some coverings, as I shouldn't really breed another *giggles*

@sroseys when BLUPping Vanners, train only in dressage/jump and put them through cross-country comps. Low stamina will help them get into the low-level comps and get yoru 20 wins.
