Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

It does! He's very nice. Might ask for a covering off him when my girl hits 10.

What will happen if I mix two crossbreeds with the same amount of breeds in them.

I am so happy the way the skills came out for my twin crosses, what do I comp them in?
They will have the highest TW gallop skills for a long time

Oooh default smiley (7) Really nice! Well done~

No problem, I mostly breed Western horses so I'm more familiar with them. default smiley :) Some breeds you'll find difficulty in finding comps, but for the most part they're just as abundant as Classical.

Uhhhhh! I am still trying to get 20 wins for Quick Silver. I think people who had over 100 wins should have separate comps, because they just love singling out little guys like me who are still BLUPing and 1000 skill points or more below them. It is so frustrating.

But I did get these two guys today... I would have liked to get a filly, I seem to be on a colt streak.

It will usually take the father's non dominant breed.

So if the dam was TB x Welsh (dominant, and the sire Shetland x Connie (dominant), the foal will be Shetland.

Haha, I'll go to you with my questions then.

My new four way cross. This is my latest pony from my project to have all the pony breeds in one.
I'm quite pleased with this one. Going to breed with a Crillo next, and then see what the speeds looking like. Going to be a cutting horse.

As of posting this, Quick Silver is fully trained with over 6000 skills. I'm sorry but if you're trying to blup in upper level comps you should rethink your training strategy. It's like people who complain about skillers when they're trying to blup in rosette comps. There are rookie comps and comp filtering for a reason; if you don't know how to finagle your training to stay in rookie comps for the duration of your blupping, I'd be happy to tell you how.

What should I breed her to?

Originally, I was trying to BLUP him before he was fully trained, but for some reason, he was not getting wins. He was some how still in the same range as the fully trained, 7000 skills horses, so I was wasting age points on him for nothing. So I tried fully training him, and it helped, he has gotten a few wins. Last night though, I have entered him in about 20 of the lowest possible comps with horses he beat, including one of my own to boost his chances, then here comes this player with +7000 skills and 115 wins and takes ever single one.

For some reason, the Rookie Comps were never available for him, so he was always a sitting duck for the other horses, even before he was fully trained. That is what I meant about the horses with over 100 wins needing their own set of comps. I tried a few different ways I know how to train with him, and none of them seemed to make a difference.

I would be glade to hear some of your training tips though. Because my own didn't work for him. It was the first time I ever had my training tricks fail.

@4 Winds
Were you entering into All breed comps? Sometimes, depending on the breed, my horse has a harder time in the all breed comps due to its skills or skill set not being up to par with some of the higher GP breeds(usually for the horses I'm blupping to get to my final horse, not the final horse itself). I blupped a Selle awhile back and there were only a handful of breed only comps it saw so I had to enter all breeds where it got crushed by other horses(usually KWPNs). Whereas its foal, who was a Selle x KWPN kicked butt in breed only comps for KWPNs.

Anyways, I bred a Russian Don cross with a Hera Pack, so I could complete a trophy and wanted a small project, then nearly fell out of my chair when I calculated his final speed and jump skills

That is exactly his problem. Apparently, there are very few GV western comps in his skill range, so I am stuck with the All Breed Comps for the most part. If I could, I would change him to English Comps, where he would probable rock in Trot Racing. Live and learn. :/

Ugh...I feel youdefault smiley (lol)
What I did was filter by participants and look at comps with 2 entries left so I could check the skills of all the horses entered, then if it looked like I could beat them, I would enter my blup and a filler to close out the comp. I don't always like doing this because then you can't necessarily do the low difficulty comps, but that worked for him though it took quite a while to check all the horses.
