Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Hello. I'm hardly an expert, and still somewhat new to the game, but it's been my experience that some horses don't win until they've got a certain amount of skill in the dominant area for those comps. not full skills, of course, but maybe about half. When someone isn't winning, I switch to a sort of train a little-comp a little plan, until they hit that spot where they start winning. Just my (admittedly limited) experience.
By way of introduction: I haven't really done any of my own crossbreeding yet, but have been getting more and more interested in doing so (especially with the western skill sets). Starting out and low on e, I bought a few cheap crosses, and discovered how good they can be. It also sounds much more fun and interesting than just breding lots of purebreds, especially since I'm not much of a pass buyer or elite GP contender. default smiley :-))
I'm not always very good at remembering to check and respond to forum posts, so if I don't reply to something please don't be offended, but I've been wanting to jump in here for a while so here I am!

@Thunder Thanks, default smiley (lol) what horse needs the 18 wins?
@Horselover, the one I bought from Horsebabe yesterday. She was causing chaos in the Rookie comps yesterday with several second places 2 firsts and 1 third.

@HB not sure if you typed Thunder and meant me but I'm going to flip through your test foals anyway and see if any pop out at me. default smiley (lol)
thunder, train in speed and dressage and enter trot comps and you should get your wins.

Horselover, so sorry I did type the wrong name lol

Horselover; Those gasoline fumes are getting to HB. She is confused. The Trake foal is messing with her mind--a trait it get from its stubborn momma. default smiley (lol)

@HB that's ok. default smiley (lol) I found a foal actually. Are you willing to sell the Fry stallion on the second page? I think his IBS is 422? I need a nice Dressage monster to boost my EC lessons.
@Horsebabe, you must live in "helpfulness city" default smiley (lol) I recently sold a TB of mine, and I have enough to go back through your tear breds again. default smiley :k

@HB thanks a million! default smiley :-))

I'm thinking about making Shagyas my speciality breed. Bring their GP up and get them in the 80's for stars.
