Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Yep that is what you want to do. Thunder if you would like help BLUPing let me know I am always up for helping people finish getting wins or bolding.
They are slow. It took me gosh.. 4 hours to get Rally into a comp that actually ran yesterday. O.o

@Thunder ok training you don't want to do first because that makes comps super hard to win. First you want to train the horse in the the two skills for the comps you want them to win, (never in stamina because it makes the comps harder). Then after the wins come in finish training in the horse's top three skills, bold them and you'll have a 100BLUP horse. Also, if the horse isn't 10 he won't be BLUPed fully.
Ok, only 10 more wins now. Comps are going slightly faster by like .000001%.

@Notbob what's the horse and what comps are you running in? I may have some fillers.
Yes, that 10 year part I know, and I totally shouldn't have trained her now that I think about it.
And that is *really* good advice that is going into my notebook.

This probably seems like a very dumb question, but:
Is the Fresian the best horse to crossbreed with to get a good trotting cross?

Thunder; You can also do Standardbreds. I'm not sure which has higher covers, most likely Fries though.

@Thunder Friesians are good at dressage and have nice trot but if you want a horse with higher trot skills I'd go for a Standardbred.
Great! Standardbred, that's doable.

Any suggestions for getting a good mix of jumping, trot, & dressage? Assuming I'd need to do a three-breed cross, which would take a while longer, but I'm okay with that.

Okay I am off to buy some fillers to enter in the Grand Prix randomly so I can get some money to save up and hopefully buy some good horses. I am going to add up how much I would make if anybody else is interested let me know.
Anybody got a teared Paint just sitting around? default smiley xd

@Thunder maybe a Standardbred/Friesian cross with a Hanoverian? Not sure if Hanos are good in Jump though, I might have the wrong breed in mind.

Not happy with his IBS at all but his GP is decent I suppose... I don't plan on rebreeding with tears because I just plan on selling him when he's in the rankings.
@Horselover800, that's a good suggestion. I should call my mom down to my room to get my notebook box of that high shelf (don't get me wrong, I'm tall, but the shelf is taller) default smiley xd.
