Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Training job is open again, I need them done before the next ticket job if someone wants to do it. I have 4 horses. So 1 person could do them all or 2 people could do 2 each. 1 pass each horse.

Horsebabe- what do you consider decent inborn skills? I have a GV mare whose last baby had 269.89 skills and should be higher now. All she needs is one more win to be 100 Blup, let me know if you are interested in borrowing her!

Blue, I breed with tears, the best she gave me was 427, I got one with a lower gp, different breed with 435. Wasn't so happy, but oh well

Do you guys try to get all of your wins before you train or do you train and then get wins? I was wondering because I am having trouble getting wins for this guy .

never crossbred before but bought a lovely friesian mare to start with ^^ wanna get her crossed with an awesome TB stallion!

Hey y'all.

When crossing, are there certain things you go for? Like, trying to get really good in one stat in particular? Or do you cross just because? Like, let's say I were to take a horse that's best at stuff like cross country and breed them with a horse that's best at racing... I'd kinda get mediocre results in all disciplines, wouldn't I?

Just curious.

Klopford- Most crossbreeders here breed for specific skills in a specific breed. Like you want to make Trot ranks on with a Arabian. You could cross to a Standardbreed or go four way and cross with thee other breeds like Standardbred, Lusitano and Fry to bump up GP dressage, stamina and trot. Some people breed just to but usually dont get much. And ar Racer crossed with a CC Comp horse would even out skills a little but maybe not. Depends on the breeds crossed and if they have any skills in common.

Well, up to nine wins on Cannibal. Just started CC Comps so hope he can rake in a few more.
klop, most of us cross to boost stats for a certain breed. Mainly for the rankings, but also for comp monsters

Blue, I train in the secondary skills needed for a comp I'm trying to get wins in, say show jump, would train speed and dressage and enter show jump till I got my wins. Then you can do the other comps and rides/training

@Klopford yes most crossbreeders breed to evolve certain skills and even them out. Some cross just because but most of us in here breed for specific things. As an example I always breed for high Dressage so a lot of my crosses have Friesian or Lustino in them. As far as the cross country horse bred to the barrel racer go, it all depends on the stats of each horse but I'd expect them to even each other out to some extent.

Egh...does anyone have a fry cross, with 300+ GP for gallop stud? I need a good one so I can breed Heartfelt Farewell. (I still have to BLUPP though, although she is definetly getting there.)
