Finally a post just for us cross breeders. The purpose of this topic is for cross breeders to have a place to discuss their crossbreeding programs and to share crossbreeding secrets and advice with others who may be interested in giving crossbreeding a try. Feel free to talk about your crossbreeding programs and your achievements and failures in crossbreeding.
Please remember to follow the rules of the forum and be informative and helpful. default smiley :-))

*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*/*

Reminder to all.

Please do not advertise sales or items wanted in this topic. I can turn a blind eye to the covers being offered (as long as they are not blatant advertisements) because we are, after all, trying to help each other progress and there is no filter on public covers for searching for crosses, but items sales and items wanted do not belong in any of the public forums and we have a sales forum for horse sales so please, lets keep our topic clean of the ads.

Thanks everyone

There are reasons for rules and everyone is expected to follow them. There will be no posting of advertisements in this topic and everyone is expected to be respectful. Any disrespect towards fellow players or moderators will not be tolerated. Anyone posting advertisements will receive a forum ban without prior warning. If breaking of rules continues to take place in this topic I will delete it.

Thank you

If anyone has personal issues with another player, or needs something back from another player(items/passes), other than covers/fills-please take it to private pms...anymore posting here will mean an instant forum ban without a warning.

Edit by pixiesbite

A reminder that this is not the place for trading/buying/selling BMI, horses or advertising or asking for someone to train your horse.
If any of these things occur, you will be forum banned without prior warning.

Hey all! I am trying to find a way to use my 18 MAs. So, I am kinda looking for a new cross to start a line for me? Anyone have a decent cross with around 1400 GP?

Patrickrocks if you look up 100& BLUP 1400+ Jenetics when you breed your mare you will get tones of Jypsy Vanners that have up to 1429 Jenetics, and they are 100% BLUP. They highest I have ever payed for one of those coverings is however 7500eq.

Well, Patrickrocks is off to rescue me again. Thanks for BLUPing!

I'm stoked, my grandmother comes down today so maybe I get my money for my passes. Then tomorrow I can get! Ah!! I'm super excited. Narcissistic Cannibal will be great! And if I have any left over, I may star on the little colt I got from HB! Woot!
I just bred this cute little guy: Cacahuete. I am very excited! First of my crossbreeding line that reached 80*, and so close to my goal having a GP over 200 in each category! And all are descending from my first mare and only have Lusi/Fry/Arab/PSH blood in them! Very happy default smiley :)
So what do you think, should I breed him a Sister and heavily inbreed to gain GP or should I cross further to crosses with higher GP, taking into account that I will always decrease one skill by doing so?

I was looking around and found that Winter's Thought made #11 for PSH gallop at just 10 years, no MA... no WoY... I only BLUP'ed him. Thank you Winter. Maybe you should have one of the siblings skilled.

Hi! I'm starting up a breeding experiment for Arabo-Friesians and I was wondering if anyone here has a 100 Blup Foundation Friesian Stally that would consider be a long term cover partner with me? I'm trying to breed dressage comp horses. I'd really appreciate it... I'm sorry if this doesn't belong here...
By Retired breeder, 21st January 2012 18:32:51
I haven't been here in a while so hello all!

I'm going to get back into crosses so you should be seeing me here again quite a bit!
What do you reckon would be a good idea to cross? I have friesians mostly right now but I'm open for any and all suggestions!

I'll probably rebreed this foal with tears. I'm loving that the lottery came back around. It means I'll have lots of shiny new items for my next project. default smiley (7)

The copy and paste isn't being nice today so i can't post a link but I bred a 1200 GP Shettie GV cross! His name is King of Cool and he is in the Rain Drop Crosses tab.

My friend sold me a GV cross colt in a *horrible* EC so now I have to wait until February 20th to game him! :P

His name is Little Feather in the other horses tab-please give him apples!

Perhaps I should! I'm glad he turned out so well. : )

These are the Lusitano crosses I forgot to post last night… Start of one part of my Iberian Warmblood project, so to speak. Very happy with how they came out. This is Thallium DWS and Art of War DWS. I love the dapple gray coat, as common as it is; that (and all shades of gray), buckskin, black, and all shades of bay are my favorite coats.

Artemis- Haha, thank you! I feel flattered to have a horse stalker. default smiley (lol)

I'm going to breed a few more testers out of surprising then pick the one I like best. They'll all be different TB variations.
