The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

2 wins left... seems to take forever
I have a question that someone here might be able to answer. I hope so anyway! default smiley ;)

If you have a 1st generation NIB horse and one of it's foundie parents disappears will the "grandparents" (Ouranos & Gaia) also disappear from that branch of the tree?

No the oranos and gaia will still be there the only problem is that when people go back to check the lines they will not know if that horse has a foundation horse disappear or a horse that has a lot of inbreeding so many people won't breed to it default smiley :( I have lost a lot of horses that way.

Well the tree would still show NIB status for the 1st generation horse I have if Ouranos and Gaia appear above the question mark/horse disappeared business. But generations afterward would pose the problem. I didn't think of that. I guess I'd better grab some screen shots as proof.

I've just learned an important lesson: you can only have two horses in the same race. This has never applied to me before as I've never used fillers before. Darn it - I used my last 2 aging points getting my 2nd filler to the right gallop level default smiley (lol)
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 17:52:26
Rymskynx - default smiley (lol) Yes, I did see that!! Hopefully she's finding her groove...That's a mighty sexy GP on your boy there....default smiley (7) Maybe next time they meet it'll be in the breeding shed...default smiley (lol) (she says without checking pedigree..since Caoimhe is by one of your boys)

Sandstar12 -- yes, the last couple are fairly torturous..default smiley ;) Hang in there...hopefully by tonight you'll be back here popping the cork on some bubbly....default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 17:54:27
Sandstar12 -- random act of NIB-love en route...default smiley ;) The idea of fillers just hurts my brain...knowing my luck I'd be beating my bluppers with my filler....
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 18:00:14
Wild North - hmm bubbly. Underage drinking... =p Maybe not. And thank you for the random act of NIB-love =) Very much appreciated
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 18:01:02
OMG Yay! 20 wins! *metaphorically pops cork on bubbly*
Actually Wild, I don't think they're related - Quest doesn't have any of my NIB uni's in his pedigree and Caoimhe is by one of them. default smiley ;) He is my highest GP so far; I'm really quite proud of him. default smiley :-))

If anyone has some arabian fillers for XC comps of .68-.81% I would much appreciate aid default smiley ;). I have all sorts of my immortalized horses in there that need some wins.

Blazing Glory (my filler as her health is below par)
Eternal (has affix)
Demon Hunter
Rainbow_Pegasus (has affix)
Strawberry Lark (has affix)
Shaton
fire (is a filler in trot comps)
Kisco (jumping comps)

Those are the names I can remember.

Hey there default smiley :)

I'm buying any Morgan foundation foal for 3500e. I only need 2 or 3 but they're harder to find than you think! default smiley (lol)

Thinking of starting an NIB line, but probably just going to work with them to the highest quality possible without buying from top breeders.

Ihaven't ben here in a while, to those wondering, Nutty is not all the way trained, they just won't run! He's in XC and around 14-20ish%. There just aren't enough horses of that skill. Off to work other horses....
Woot! So far Strawberry Lark has won 3 comps today default smiley :-)). 5 more wins and he'll be all done default smiley (b)

Forest - I'll check Lukas to see where he is on the XC scale...trouble is, he's wildly unpredictable and throws out the odd win here and there...default smiley (o)

Sandstar12 -- how's about some sparkling grape then? default smiley ;) Glad those wins came through...congrats!

Rymskynx -- well then...default smiley ;)

Just finished up one of my monster IH's and bred her....all of my comps seem to be stuck in a holding pattern..hoping the evening will jostle them loose...

ttfn
That is fine, I'm not to worried. I have got more wins today than I have recently so it would be fine if they lost on accident default smiley :p

Delgado got his first win today default smiley :-)) and few more wins for more random horses. Not a whole lot of great wins. Wish Rainbow_Pegasus and Beauty would get their last 2 default smiley xd

Oh gees, I know I just posted, but htis is hurting my brain..... can someone explain this REALLY thoroughly to me? Take this example. I have a stally and 2 mares. I breed the stally to both mares. one mare has a colt, one a filly. I breed them. Would that be inbreeding?
