It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

Sorry to hear that Pintar5, i geuss he is trained all the way? i hope he wins some good luck.default smiley (y)default smiley ;)
Forgot to say that if anyone needs EC boxes, I have a few reserved in my name if anyone wants them. When I was away, all my horses fell out and I'm not going to be concentrating as much on it these days.

I was trying to get 24e lessons but I need to skill a few monsters first and that's going to take a while to get everything together. My lessons are currently 13e because all of my horses fell out of it and I think it also has something to do with the fact that I forgot to extend my contract again. Everything should be back to normal the day after tomorrow with Odessa in. I'm hoping that lessons will at least go up to 21e. It was at 22e before but oh well....

Anyway, figured I'd post here to fellow NIBers before going onto the EC ads forum.

I've only gamed one of my foals so far and really can't be bothered with my other foundies until I can get Arms for a few of them, which means aging a few pass horses first, well more than a few actually XD. I was going to game my Barb foals just to get them out of the way. I have far too many horses in need of decent lesson gains and BM items default smiley (lol)

Night guys

I have been breeding nib friesians but have decided to devote my time elsewhere. If anyone is interested in them I am selling all of them. They are mostly either foundation or 1st/2nd generation so not very high gps. Please email me if you are interested in any of them and I will reserve them for you.

*groan* dire day in the comps for Caoimhe...boy oh boy I'm learning the hard way that I really NEED to put at least a tack pack on my 1Gs. I've slid from getting 2nds to a rash of 4ths. Ugh. The foundies are faring mildly better...but not much....must be the full moon...default smiley ;)

I'm trying to game a few foals before the cold weather and will be leaving them on the shelf for the winter.....

Congrats all on your finished ponies....default smiley (y)default smiley (y)

Got a few comps left to run...fingers crossed....

Hello all ~~

Very few wins here. Due to my new teaching schedule I am not home in the mornings anymore and so my babies are suffering in the evening comp. My uni's are holding their own but I am not getting many wins with my arabs lately.

Oh well at least this weekend I will be able to game them during the day before I do homework that is.

I wish you all luck with your ponies tonight default smiley :)

What has been you all's experience with age effecting the outcome of competitions? I'm trying to figure out how significant it is. I don't usually have very good luck with young howrses unless they have many bonuses.

From the places that I've found that are willing to actually put percentages on instead of just saying it has a "small" effect, around 5% of the winner calculation goes on age.
Amymone's got all 20 wins now, I've just got to bold her. default smiley :d

Good job foxy

As of yet I have seen no difference with age effecting competitions but I could be poorly mistaken

Thanks.

With the age, Amy won those 20 aged between about 7 and 9. So not very old, but her skills were better than the horses she was racing against.

Great! Nice going foxy.

Thinks he will try this again.

Hey everyone,
Could some one be kind enough to send me a pm about "filler" horses.
I understand the concept, but Im not sure about the type of horse used.
Any responses would be great.
Thanks
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 10:19:13
Mine tend to get wins quite young but I use Tack Packs on them - perhaps one day I should try and BLUP one with MA and nothing else. I think tactical training counts for more than age, though; if you get speed and dressage trained and bolded first, the low-level showjump, trot and gallop comps will mostly hold other foundies/low-GP horses and usually I find those have not got speed and dressage done.
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 10:21:36
I'll post about fillers here in case anyone else is curious... I use them all the time and find them very helpful for NIBs.

A filler is a horse that aids another in getting comp wins. It's usually the same breed as the horse/s you're trying to get wins on (as players often enter their horses in breed-specific rather than open comps) and the skills mean it is elligible to enter the same difficulty levels as your horse yet not beat it. Often you will need several fillers to enter at different stages in your horse's competition life or different comps.
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 11:55:48
'morning all!

Just had a thought.....

Rowen - I saw entries of yours in the low-level arab show jumps when I was entering one of mine -- I've got an arab/paint cross....long story....anyway, for lack of anything else to do with him I've been blupping him ever-so-slowly..he has all his wins so if he'd be of use as filler just let me know -- I don't know enough about skill level/filler potential so I avoided your comps just in case...

Anyway..open invitation...

His name is Lukas

Anyone is welcome to his services should he be of use.

It may be entirely coincidence, but my older foundies seem to be doing better than the younger ones and that's not because they're particularly better skilled...quite the opposite as they are auction-salvage.

Inner Chorus -- have you ever blupped without tack packs etc? Or is this always your strategy? I'm really considering making it mine because even with speed/dressage training done and bolded, my 1G is still struggling to get wins. She seems to just lose out to the lower-starred horses with no particular fancy equipment. 'Tis most frustrating....default smiley (o)

Congrats foxy on your wins....default smiley (y)
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 14:34:12
I used to BLUP without them, but haven't done it for a long time. I still think it could be done, certainly with the addition of a one-pass skill boost item. I might do a test run on the next foal I BLUP and see how it goes...
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 15:01:17
I've slapped a tack pack on my other 1G so will see how the experiment goes.....I had to do it for an achievement anyway so two birds and all that....

It may very well be that I just need to *hit the groove* with Caoimhe -- sort of a fine balance of everything being just right and then the wins start coming *checks planetary alignment default smiley (lol)*. I did a bit of an experiment in that I entered in slightly higher than the lowest available -- the better horses seemed to be avoiding them, going for the lowest - and it paid off with a win. We'll see if that holds for the rest of the day as the other races fill......I know Forest Queen likes to enter empty races but that generally backfires for me because Big Horses seem to enter afterwards...at least if the race is semi-full I know what I'm up against.

Speaking of which - - I did see your Zinc pony in a race, Inner Chorus, but there was a fancy entry from one of the Big Breeders in too so I entered my monster blupper in and trounced it on all our behalfs (behalves?)...default smiley :p

Interesting to see your experience with your blup-experiment...

I really should get back to work.....default smiley :o
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 15:21:49
default smiley (lol), luckily Zinc has more than enough wins now. The next foal I do will be an MA-only effort unless I find it struggling for wins by 12-ish. It should be interesting! Or maybe frustrating is the word I'm looking for...we'll see!
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 15:46:34
lol IC.

My foundie just got beat by another (foundie I think). The annoying part is that the horse in question has 56 gallop wins, 10 jumping wins and others... seems to be kept just for low level wins as no blupping is apparent. default smiley (li) Ah well. Five to go - I may make it some day.
By Retired breeder, 30th January 2010 15:51:29
hey does aanyone here breed morgans? because i have a foundation you might like the link is below

I seem to be getting wins with my friesians but my arabs aren't doing so hot. I have one win total for today and that's it and mainly fourths fifths and thirds
