It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

Curious about NIB horses? Want to know what a NIB horse is? You've come to the right place!

What is this topic for? NIB enthusiasts to find each other and help one another progress in their respective games.

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

lol thanks WildNorth. Not going so well... I accidentally entered a load of un-breed-reserved comps so have little chance there and then there were about 5 others to choose from ^_^ maybe I'll get one win if I'm lucky!

Who's in a bad pun mood today?

I finally got around to making an affix for my NIBs (not that I've bred any yet) and It's called......Paint with NIB pens

*sigh* I wanted to do something with NIB looking like nib, as in pen tip, and the breed name was oh so tempting to work in...

If anyone can come up with something that is a bit better sounding but still has the same spirit of heartless PUNishment default smiley xd let me know.

Nice LoloJean ^_^

*sigh* I just ate half a bag of chocolate chips, can you tell>?
Hi all,

I got back from a long trip and trained and entered my babies and now I am ready for some dinner and couch time. How are things in the world of the NIBs?

Rowen -- fair-to-middlin' I'd say here in Wild Cove.....squeezed out a first for Caoimhe in a trot...and a second....slow and steady we go!! Further pruning in the barn so I now have a first and second string as far as training priority...feeling rather smug.

LoloJean -- default smiley (lol) how can you NOT play with the word 'paint'?! I always like to mention whenever anyone asks what I *do* on here that I 'dabble in Paints'...because I only have two....and the word NIB does beg to be played with also. On the subject of word associations...I'm a vet tech and so to me 'bm' - used around here to describe Black Market items stands for 'bowel movement' so it's been very hard for me to become accustomed to talking about buying them and using them.....default smiley :p I like your affix very much!!

Off to walk the hounds....
By Retired breeder, 23rd January 2010 23:58:03
ok...except for the fact that i've been absent the past few days and now most of my horses are out of boardingdefault smiley :@

I don't like to board them this far from update, the ECs stink. I like to board around 5:00, Eastern timedefault smiley xd

And I had "punny" little fit earlier....default smiley (a)

Wild North: Thanks default smiley xd

BM for you, BO looking suspiciously like Body Odor for me....

And the fact that I don't come in contact with bad language much making it harder for me to remember to NOT abbreviate Blacksmith to two letters....default smiley :-x just in case.

words are so weird.default smiley :p
It's funny when we look at initials what we can find or think of. LIke NIB for example when I am working on selling things on ebay stands for New In Box. It's funny really.

Wild North I have gotten three wins one on each horse today so far but then I didn't get my horses entered until just now so I have a lot of comps left to run. My babies from this spring are just starting out with trot training though so probably in about a week or two they should be started in the trot races and we will see how the first generation from my foundies do. I hope they have an easier time than their parents did.

Back to the books I have to get my homework done this weekend. What crazy streak in my head made me decided to take on double the class load this semester. I think it was temporary insanity. default smiley (lol)

Don't we all love homework.default smiley :p

I have a paper due Monday...it's done except for revisions, I've been leaving it alone for a few days so that I can look at it with fresh eyes.....tomorrow.

but I digress...
I sense sarcasm in those words LoloJean.

default smiley (lol)

I love college but there are some days. *sigh* I would love to be done with it.

Oh well at least I can take breaks and message on the forum and check on my ponies. Hopefully everyone does well in the comps today. default smiley :)

For those of you doing Friesian NIBs just something I noticed. My Friesians really love Trot comps not sure what it is but usually I will at least get 5 or 6 wins before I finish getting gains from trot competitions.

Is there anyone aside from Rowen who does NIB Friesian Unicorns? I want a baby to be the mate of the one I'm getting Rowen to breed me. -paces and waits- There's two foundies I'm waiting on replies of offers I made on them. I wish I knew how they got 'em in the first place...and wish I had more equus! XD

Darned green star monster arabs muscling in on Adrian's wins... someone else was entering low horses with him and then some evil person kept coming in with a 22* arab wit over 700 in stats and was already way over blup-ed default smiley :@

Today was a good day for Sandi, she stayed awake during he son's birthday party. Yay!
SoulReaper

There are 8 others listed on the NIB webpage who breed Fresian Uni NIB horses. If you need there is a link on the bottom of my page to take you there default smiley ;)

I'm glad to hear that your sister had a good day. I hope she has a lot more default smiley :d I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

My newest foal. default smiley :d

I just bred him, and was amazed by his GP. default smiley :d His parents both only have 350.20, and the sire was 100 BLUP but the dam only had 74.97! I only got 0.41 before games more tan that with two 100 BLUP 351.20 foundies. default smiley (o)

Congrats, Bonnie and Foxie!

Eeee...Adrian got two more wins. -eyes aging point pile- >:3 Since my donkey has MA...I think I'll shoot for more wins later. -crawls off to hibernate cuz it's like 7 am and I haven't slept yet-
By Retired breeder, 24th January 2010 14:12:58
Congratulations bonnie and foxie!! Lovely foals....

Rowen...nice wins for you...I often wonder if time of day/day of the week entering makes a difference. I always train and enter in the morning....anyone change up their routine and find it makes a difference?

Ah college....classes...papers...exam...ARGH!! Glad to be done with that...although I'm a perpetual student...happiest doing it on my own terms, though. I have to do continuing education for my professional standards status-thingy and I must admit to getting rather excited to see all the lovely courses I can take...then again, I'm something of a nerd...default smiley (lol) I'm just glad I didn't have a computer or internet when I was in school or else I'd never have got any work done!! (oh, dated myself there, didn't I?default smiley :o)

Going to poke my head into the showjumping ring and see if it's safe to enter...perhaps Mr. 706 is taking a break over the weekend...default smiley ;)
Bonnie and Foxie great looking babies keep up the good work.

Wild North
It's definitely a time of day thing. Last night I got three wins total. One in trot and two in Cross country and that was it. I have already gotten that this morning and I have over 50 comps left to go. I definitely am a fan of doing training in the morning rather than evening. The shows have better classes with lower % and it seems the green monsters don't frequent the shows as much at that time.

I do all my college classes online since I am an old lady and have a kid at home default smiley (lol). But this is my last semester to get my BA so I felt I needed to pile it on and get it all done quick since the end is in sight. Now I'm doubting my decision because the work load is going to kill me. default smiley (lol) I don't think I will ever be officially done learning though I like it too much. I am actually presenting my audition for Parelli Online skills with the mare in my picture. She's not that young now but boy do I love that picturedefault smiley (lol)

Good luck in the show jumping I'll keep an eye out for you. default smiley :-))

WTG Foxie...nice foal!
By Retired breeder, 24th January 2010 16:32:54
Rowen - default smiley (lol) - I guess the green monsters are late-risers!! I've always had the most luck doing everything in the morning...it's the rare occasion I do late-day entries, only when I'm at work for the day or something and can't get finished in the morning....

I guess that makes two of us old ladies then...default smiley (lol)...I'll keep the perpetual coffee pot brewing and if necessary, an IV infusion of caffeine to keep your studies going...default smiley ;)

Wimped out on the SJ and just went for some nice low-skill trots...yet to fill so....but I might get brave and age her to do some jumps, if the coast is clear...default smiley ;)

Do you have a piccy of your mare? Or is that the one in your avatar...cheeky monkey...default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 24th January 2010 16:34:29
*runs screaming into thread*

She won a gallop, won a gallop, won a gallop!!! default smiley :-))default smiley :-))

*careens back out to age filly*
Yeah she is the one in my avatar. That was taken when she was about 6 months old. She is about 5 now. I have been meaning to take another picture of her for my avatar but I haven't gotten to it yet. since my camera only works when it wants to.

I really love that picture of her though since it shows a perfect example of her personality. default smiley (lol)

I'm up to 5 wins now it's a streak I think.
