It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

That it does! Which is why I missed re-posting him for 3 or 4 weeks. =p I first posted him as an entry quiiiite awhile back. Not sure if he got missed or it was because I didn't put his "full" name (didn't add the affix last time) or... who knows? So I kept meaning to re-post and missing Sunday (realizing Monday!) but this time I remembered. default smiley (l)

I breed for skill, starting from foundation horses and working my way up. I do maximum gaming with my foals, but I don't pay any attention to GP. Would this be considered NIB breeding?

As long as you keep the lines separate and no horse show up two or more times in a line, it's NIB yes default smiley ;)
By Retired breeder, 17th January 2010 20:39:54
Aww FQ. At least you know Yavie is in a good home now. I was very lucky to find him and very proud of him.

gaff, She is a nice girl. Although going to take a fair amount of work. It looks like she was pretty neglected for the first bit.

My groupings are a little more balanced now. So we will have to see how it goes.

Well, I'm fairly new to NIB breeding. My Foundation brumby mare is the only one I have, and I'm finding it hard to find foundation and/or other NIB brumby's. And is there a better technique to train them? And has anyone got any NIB/Foundie brumbie's there selling?
Thankies default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 17th January 2010 21:33:26
aww bumbie. I did, but I now don't. When I last looked there were a mountain in the private sales and auctions for between 500e - 10000e.

I need PSH foundie foals or foundations with 351+GP, preferably 351.2 but I can pay great!

Well, I did get a foundation PSH 351.2 GP stallion from Yankee Lady for 20k and 1 BM itim. He's partly blupped so I'm not looking forward to trying to detangle it, but I'm still vry greatful for a fully gamed PSH at all. The second stud is very similiar, arund the same age and partly bupped. I will be getting him this week for 20k and 1 BM. Great prices for great horses! When they are blupped if anyone wants a covering just PM me. But I still need 2 mares to pair them with.
FQ --- I promise that none of the babies that you gave me will ever go anywhere unless it's back into your fold so they will be super safe.

I finally broke 101 horses. But not all are Foundation and not all are breeding stock

My current count is

32 Foundie Females
27 Foundie Males
12 First Gen Females all from my lines or other trusted breeders so very safe
10 First Gen Males
and
1 2nd gen male

I need to get a lot more foundation horses to make my breeding plan work and I have next to no luck in the auctions default smiley :(

I did finish one Foundation Stud this weekend and two foundation Unicorns and I am almost done with one of my first gen females so I'm getting them trained slowly but surely. I guess tomorrow I get up at 5 so I have time to get them done before I go to work default smiley (lol)

Rowen - default smiley (lol) - I'll put extra coffee on....I get up early to train before the kidlets wake up...default smiley ;) All those years on the racetrack, old habits die hard -- training done by 10am at the latest! default smiley :-))

After being overwhelmed and encouraged by turns, I've decided just to plug away with my modest bunch....once the blupping is done, I'll worry about the rest...

Did come away from the PS with a uni foal -- a Chinco....hmmmm...could be branching out here again, she's awful cute...default smiley ;)

Okay, off to put the water on to boil for pasta....

default smiley (l)
Coffee would be good. I will be up by 5am and then at work by 7:30 and home by 3:30 lol long day.

I am doing the same thing. Working the horses I have but keeping an eye on the sales to see if I can find something promising.

Hopefully I will be able to get enough ponies to keep my horses going for a few generations.

Hi all I know this isnt really related to NIB as such, but is for training my NIBs.... do horses need to be bluped before they turn 25? Or can you continue to Blup after they are 25?
You can technically continue to BLUP after 25 years old, if they aren't immortal they will continue to loose skills but they can still be BLUP'd. If you mean that they are immortal they will not loose skill and they will continue to BLUP. default smiley (y)
