It's about time the NIB breeders had their own corner of the world default smiley ;)

The NIB FAQ:

What is a NIB horse?
A NIB horse is a horse that is not inbred; every horse in its pedigree appears only once (with the exception of Ouranos and Gaia). Horses with "Horse Disappeared" in their pedigree are generally not accepted by NIB breeders unless the horses in question were bought before the horses disappeared and have verifiable pedigrees.

Are there green star NIB horses?
These horses have lower GP than green stars and other top horses, as not inbreeding limits the breeding availability and is slower to progress than breeding brothers to sisters and so forth.
**Misabel edit: The first Green star NIB horse was created on February 21, 2011 - a 6th generation Connemara pony with a star in stamina. He was the end result of a lot of hard work and effort, but now that some dedicated breeders have shown it can be done, we all have something to shoot for!

Are NIB horses considered better than green stars or inbred horses?
Goodness, no! Nobody here is attempting to make that claim. Just like the Zero GP horses, these players choose to play the game in their own challenging way.

How can I get involved with NIB breeding?
It's simple! Start by purchasing a few foundation horses, or horses whose pedigrees can be tracked down and verified as non-inbred. Then carefully breed them to create foals with good GP's and skills that are not inbred!

I'm selling two foundation Aussies if interested. default smiley :-)) They are untrained though default smiley :(
The only reason I am able to do so many this week is that I am on vacation until Monday. Then I start back up at work and won't have as much time and my poor ponies will suffer unless I decide to not sleep and do them VERY early morning. default smiley (lol)

That's why I am hoping to get as many as I can done this week before I have to start my college classes and work again. Wish I could get paid for playing games.

Hi All, Im fairly well just starting out and discovered that there are players who like to keep their pedigrees clean like me. NIB is the way to go. I have a few questions...
Is it acceptable to breed a 1st gen to a foundation? are the only reasons for breeding matching generations to increase GP?
If a horse has a Philosophers stone can it continue breeding foals forever or do they stop at a certain age?

Also I will be breeding my two foundations Kruzsader and Scarlet Rose soon now that they are both 100blup, she has a fertility wand so if anyone is interested in a 1st gen foal let me know.
By Retired breeder, 17th January 2010 04:54:14
Hi tritty
yes to both the first questions, you can breed different generations together, a lot of people breed the same generations just to make it easier to keep track; and immortal horses can keep breeding foals indefinately as far as I know (I think my oldest is in it's 40's)
87 foundation mares
60 foundation stallions

This count is including my 100 BLUP horses but is not including my foundations under 3 years old. default smiley (y)

60 paired mates and then some default smiley :p

I have also decided that I am no longer selling any of my 100 BLUPs anymore and I will be more finicky when it comes to releasing any of my foundations.

I am also going to let go of ALL of my 2nd/3rd gen foals and start...basically....from scratch when it comes to generations. Most of their dams and sires are now outside lines and I just don't want to take the chance default smiley xd

Rowen,

I believe if you age the mare past the foaling date, the foal will go away. I had that happen with a slow computer, I hit the aging twice by accident and lost the foal.

This forum is great, lots of wonderful ideas. I think I figured out an easy way to keep track of my breeding without lots of charts, etc. I'll let you know how it works. Thanks everyone.

Forest, same here on the outside lines - *pout about the not selling any more 100 BLUP's* default smiley (lol)
default smiley :-)) *looks at the few sitting in your herd already* I may ask for custom foals from your herd from the mares I sold you default smiley ;) lol.

Don't know when I will go through all my foals. May keep the colts, geld them and make them fillers......ya like I will actually end up finding the time for that but *eh*

I will always allow custom foals gaff default smiley ;) and you can feel assured I will never hit the delete button, even if I did my arabians would be split between you, Rowen, Sionnach (though she doesn't like GAs soooo.....) and bluetempest as I remember you all from the beginning. Loti would probably get my equus and any passes I had left default smiley *-)

default smiley (lol) no worries, I can do custom foals...
*does dance*

I just aged 3 foundation studs to 3 years old so I could add GAs to them and add them to my little purple book default smiley :p

Now at 63ish pairs of foundation arabians. Now to get to training. I have a couple of comps running in cross country and hope to see a couple more wins. Got 2 wins, one on 2 different horses. Golden needs only one more win and she will be completely finished! Fully bolded and everything default smiley ^)

if you have seen any or have any for sale, please PM me.
By Retired breeder, 17th January 2010 09:38:13
Hey gaff, I think we are bidding on the same horse in auction!

That is a lot of pairs there Forest Queen.

bluetempest, I have *Yavie NiB in the public coverings. If you like him, please go for him. If you need a private covering, just PM me. I usually keep enough energy on him for one more.
Yavie is a son of my old stallion Mythological Youth (now owned by Sionnach)....that is an odd affix though....the affix used to be Dark Legacy.....the new user on her account must have changed the affix default smiley :(

How on earth do you get time to train 60 pairs of horses, that is around 120 or more horses you have. I dont think I could ever imagine myself getting that many horses.
By Retired breeder, 17th January 2010 13:12:06
yeah, Annawe, she was a nice one, congrats on getting her default smiley :d (Alls fair in the auctions default smiley (lol))
I do not work with them all at once, I work them in shifts default smiley (lol).

If you check my horse numbers I'm at 375 or something like that default smiley (lol) and I have around 160 foundation arabians default smiley :-x

160! My 19 look pathetic in comparison. I'm out of funds though so it's back to training those I have until I can afford more default smiley (lol)
My collection is built over a large amount of time, some luck and lots of buying and reselling to keep my reserve up (currently 308k). Then again I have over 1 million e worth of unis so when I'm low I just sell somethingto get my fix lol

I never know which horses are worth the big money and which aren't lol I've had horses not sell at a certain price so I've lowered it, sold them and then they've been resold for a higher price than my first one with nothing done to them. Drives me nuts ^_^
By Retired breeder, 17th January 2010 17:11:15
default smiley (lol) I'm with Sandstar12 --- my humble herd rather pales in comparison....then again, I've got my hands full so....

I rather like your handy-dandy notebook method, Rowen..it appeals to my retro nature -- my notes are currently scribbled on a little pad of scrap-paper-stapled-together thing that we keep beside the computer...default smiley (lol) I may have to upgrade eventually!

FQ - *sulks* May I reiterate that the pony GA collection is somewhat feeble....time to get out my crayons, I guess.....default smiley ;)

Unicowrns, unicowrns....mulling over the idea of getting myself a pair to play with.....anyone selling?

Oh dear, does this mean I have to go and wander around the auctions......default smiley :o
