[Info] The Retired Coat Gallery

This thread is here to show off your Retired Coats. This is not the place to post non retired coats. **The two exceptions would be coats that have been pulled (brief discussions) and the pre release coats.

REMEMBER:

******** absolutely no sales talk, no talk about spares or how many extras of a copy you got and selling them to fund your RC habit this is just a place to talk RCs

* although links and graphics are ok on this thread, they are not allowed normally on public forums

* any negative or unkind comments on artists or coats (or anyone!) will be removed, and depending on the case, it might mean an instant forum ban.

* DO NOT use this as a place to sell your horse/coats-if you feel the need to break this rule, it will mean an instant forum ban...

** Sales ads are NOT allowed in any public forums. Asking for spare coats will now be considered a sales ad. This includes stating that you plan to sell a coat, or point out coats for sale in sales.

* Do not use this place as a spot for rants or complaints-About coats/BG/or each other.

* This is not the place to ask players to price your coats, or to ask others the worth of a coat, you can check uses on your own by hovering your mouse over the gray apple and price it from there.

* This is not the place to bring up the subject of stolen images. Keep in mind that the rules of the BP used to be very different, and many old coats are from that time.
There is not any reason to bring that up, or report the coats.

*Please do not do a coat countdown for soon to retire coats.

* Please do not post coats that are currently in the GA and have either not retired, or will never retire.

* Please do not post coat/bg combos or ask opinions on them, except following coat release.

* Some coats may be removed in the future, whether that be for problems with the coats itself or just because they're clearing room on the server to allow other coats to be uploaded - if you're buying retired coats, please keep that in mind. If you want a permanent copy, I would recommend saving the graphic to your computer

* How to discover who many uses a New GC coat will retire-There is now a coat countdown in the GA, and it will show how many have been used and how many uses there are left.

** There is now a new creations directory which shows all coats. Go to Community>>>Directories>>>Creations>>>Click more criteria, and on the left hand side is a gold and silver apple. Click the silver apple and search to see all retired coats.

* To see who created/how many uses/name/or if you have it already of a RC coat, simply click on the silver apple, and it will tell you.

*** Posting links to other player's coats is NOT allowed and can mean a forum ban.

*#*#*#* If players feel the need break the main topic rules, such as sales ads/coat countdowns/spares-you can expect an instant forum ban without any warning prior to it *#*#*#*

As Silence says - just start yourself a little black book - there are more people i won't buy off these days than i will- cut my nose off to spite my face - OH YES, if your flipping coats constantly each release and/or up to other devious little games i will buy from you in principle. I'm not the only one to take this approach, it's the only way forward sadly and when they are eventually stuck with all those copies well default smiley <:o)

A player on the UK game a few years back bought every single copy of a 100 use coat default smiley (b) think it probably backfired in reality as there were not many collectors on there anyhow at the time.

Silence while that would be possible to do if you didn't send the horse to heaven you would then have it lying around in your other horses farm not visible to anyone but you but in my head still a annoyance, and I am actually not sure that the coat still doesn't count then.

If you sent them to heaven you're not capable of getting them back any more you were until some time in 2016 as long as the horse was under 25 years old (30 if you have the divine donkey).
But without actually telling us in any change log or warnings they removed the possibility of getting them back from heaven.

I never use this method but I do know it has been used, and them not been capable of being resurrected any more after being sent to heaven I discovered with a AP horse I accidentally killed at 29 and sent to heaven only to discover it was too young and I suddenly couldn't get it back any more.

I seriously doubt this is what has happened here by accident, but you can also put the same coat on the same horse several times and that way bring the number down, this does often happen by accident but then we see only one or two down on a new coat normally.

I have such a list as well haffyfan.

I know for a fact that is a horse is killed, regardless of if it is sent to heaven ,will cause the numbers to go down. I know this because when I bought my rarest coat there were 7 copies left and the next day there were 8. The player I bought it off of had just resurrected him the day I bought him and at the update for the next day it showed up. So, any horse with a retired coat that is killed will lower the numbers and if it wasn't sent to heaven can be resurrected and cause the numbers to come back up. Therefore, yes, it is very likely that horses with retired coats are killed purposely for low numbers then revived to make a profit.

Sorry, I know that was a lot of repeating myself but I wanted to make sure it was clear. Hopefully it's easy to understand what I mean. default smiley (y)

Yes, there was a (pains me to call it this not grey) white pre creation space coat that the owner deliberately retired at a low number - but not before they used a handful of copies and hid them by killing the horses - they suddenly started appearing for sale one by one and of course numbers rose and person was sussed pretty quickly.

When coats could be opened and closed at will and could also be hidden from your personal page no end of players played this system - and this is why my collection is missing a couple of otherwise highly collectable coats, sadly i already had another affected coats as didn't realise whom the creator was and themselves/another person were alternately manipulating the opening and closing for own gain.

It's terrible for a player to kill off new retired coats just for their gain. Granted, I love having more rare coats, but I would like other players to have the opportunity to own them as well! They will obviously lose uses as time goes on and players quit with the horses on their accounts, but the removing of them in large quantities is disgusting. I wish they would find out who's doing it and stop them default smiley :s

Agreed! It ticks me off to see one player with 10 of the same coat and trying to flip all of them in the sales. I know several players in particular that do this every release and it's so obnoxious.

I am guilty of having multiple copies of 100 copy coats but it is because I love the coat as a whole. <3 I honestly wouldn't mind it becoming so players can only get a certain amount of limited coats at release, say 1 copy per player per 100 uses per coat. So a 500 limited coat would mean a player could only buy 5 copies from the Black Market. It wouldn't completely sort the problem, but it might make it slightly harder to buy just to flip.
I'm new here to the rc collecting thing. I was for a moment considering collecting but it kind of sounds scary haha. What is with the 'releases' and why are people killing off horses?

Nothing is wrong with that. That's not what's happening.

Let's say there is a coat called Pumpkin which has 100 copies.
Someone will buy the Pumpkin coat and put it on 15 different horses.
Then they will kill all 15 Pumpkin horses (without sending them to heaven).
Then the amount of copies goes from 100 to 85.

Coats with 85 copies left are rarer than coats with 100 copies left, and therefor more valuable, and people will pay more for a coat with 85 copies than one with 100 copies.

So these people will sell their Pumpkin coats with "85 copies left" in order to get more passes from unaware buyers.
Then they'll slowly resurrect their other Pumpkin coats.
The number of copies will increase. 86, 87, 88, 89...

It's a way of scamming people. People are paying for a coat with 85 copies left, but then the person resurrects their other coats and the uses go back up.

It's entirely different from buying more than one copy of a coat and keeping it because you like it. One is a way to scam for extra profit, the other is to simply have more of a cool coat.

I know exactly what is happening. default smiley ;) I suggested that limit as it is likely the same few people that do this and putting a limit on the amount would help stop the buying and then killing to get the number down and then revive. ^^

Sorry, I wasn't sure.

I have a suspicion of who a coat killer might be, they had 4 of the Lascaux coat in the sales. default smiley (o)

Wow that's pretty bad. Maybe the coat count shouldn't decrease until a horse that's died is sent to heaven, or horses that die should be sent automatically so players can't scam others like that.

I totally didn't think about the bringing-back-to-life thing. default smiley :o That's definitely not fair. Luckily the only rc i kept was the blue unicorn, which still has 100 uses... if I was a real collector i'd be pretty mad. Hopefully Howrse can institute new rules...

Rockin' the collections with a new coat I see? Lovely!

I love this coat! A player who was leaving left it with me, and I fell for it HARD. I must have missed it when I was scanning the directories for potential dragon coats, because I had never seen it until they offered it to me. Great addition!

Ugh, if I could catch the person doing this. It's unfair for everyone. Keeping them from people for your own gain. Then raising the number to profit more. It's disgusting.
