Who on earth decided the new design was a good idea. On a tablet right now, using a browser. Not touching the app with a ten feet pole.
It’s a disaster. The layout is the worst idea yet. Who decided it was a good idea to highjack the players browser. I can’t even select all the text I’ve written.
Wanted to quote a players post, and the game decided to insert it twice. Had to hit the back button several times.

This is really really bad coding howrse devs.

the way this reminds me of some baby game right now, where every button has to be soft and circular and popping in your face idk, may just be me not liking change but the new layout feels tacky

I can't shake the feeling that they made the forums so unreachable to slowly "wean" us off them so they can just delete them in the future.

The new mobile update is terrible. I don't like that this is like the web version and the landscape view is awful to navigate on mobile. Please change back.

This design change is AWFUL! My original account was in 2014. I’ve come back over the years. This may make me leave the game. I’ll give it some time but I am absolutely not a fan. I’ve never gone to discussions to voice an opinion over changes but this one just took me by surprise logging in and I hate it.

Im begging you as somebody who uses classic on my phone the new tiny button is so hard to click, and now I have two extra clicks just to get to the forums and i can’t just click tabs I want anymore and I am so sad I am literally on my hands and knees please put it back you don’t need a pretty picture on every menu it just needs to be functional this is not functional it is unusable.

Please please please please put it back. I typed all those out on my phone. I am so sad.

Anyway, I hate this new UI update. I know it will never be switched back.

No joke. The first thing I noticed is how ugly my passes and equus box looks. Then all the buttons were shifted to the right and you can't even click into the forum from the drop down anymore. Stop adding extra clicks!! default smiley (o)

Please revert back to the proper layout default smiley :k This completely ruined my muscle memory clicking which is essential for playing classic on fully zoomed out mode on your phone because of how tiny the buttons are already. I already need the clicking accuracy of a neurosurgeon and this just made it worse. This is definitely one of the most irritating changes you've made in a while. You can't just shift everything off to the side all of a sudden. One of the reasons that I play on my phone and not a laptop is because I'm not interested in scrolling for days or having stuff like that bar follwing me around, and now I'm stuck with it too as far as the forums are concerned. At least move the ad banner into the empty space on top and condense the layout a bit to remove some of the scrolling if you intend to ruin it like this. This layout isn't even efficient - it just makes it so that you must be extra precise with clicks because everything is shifted over and some navigation takes more clicks than before. I don't see how this is an improvement at all - all you did was make it ugly and impractical default smiley (li)

You are taking away the very essence of what makes classical classical by adding in extra clicks that were previously visible from a drop down that you got by hovering over the menu. Stop ruining the game already. First tax, then trophies, now the layout... This is the desktop version of the game. Mobile games should stay mobile and desktop should stay desktop. If desktop players wanted to play mobile, then they'd play the mobile version. It's as simple as that. Stop trying to force them into some intermediate morph that ruins all the things that make the versions unique because those things that make the versions unique are exactly why we play one version and not the other default smiley (li)

Why don't you work on something that's *actually useful* like getting rid of that minute of lag where actions that you do with horses/horse pages don't load (ie whatever button you click just makes the page refresh repeatedly for an entire minute) 20mins or so after the daily update every day instead? That's been happening since your lag fix that took you 2 years to acknowledge. Or bring our trophies back? You ruined YEARS of effort and passes by removing the display from our pages. YEARS. Or make the horse coats unique? There are things that could actually use work and absolutely none of them involved ruining the layout/navigation like this. Even the banner that supposedly offers rewards if you watch ads needs fixing... and just like the other things I've mentioned, we've known about it for years. So once again, it just looks like you're finding filler work by breaking things to avoid fixing the things that actually need work. Stop looking for filler work default smiley (li)

I second that option to have a setting to revert back to the old layout by choice default smiley (o)

Put it back. Pronto. Literally nobody asked for this. Stop trying to “update” things for a “modern audience” that doesn’t exist and even if it did, isn’t playing a horse breeding game from 20 years ago.

I loved the fact that this game still looked like it did 15 years ago when I played in college. People play this game largely for nostalgia. Why would you even vaguely think taking away the primary reason anybody comes onto a 20 year old game was anything resembling a good idea?

How about you focus on fixing or updating the things we constantly ASK FOR and stop doing things to break the site and drive away what little remains of your paying consumer base?

Hey so I won’t sugarcoat this; I hate the new look. Like someone said, going to the forums requires MORE clicks now than before.

It’s a web based game, why not keep the old and nostalgic look (that literally no one complained about anyway…)?! Every single company nowadays change their logo to look more ’modern’ and sleek, but in reality they just lose what once made them special. I mainly play on PC, I don’t need the classical version to be more mobile friendly.

I'm not loving the new set up but I'm not hating it.... I've deliberately poked at everything I usually use as well as the once in a blue moon stuff.

I am loving that it's not kicking me to the mobile site constantly.

I do want the banner back. Or else a notification bubble on the new menu. I like my personalized offers even if I don't always take advantage. Same for any 'special offers'. If I don't know they're there I'm definitely not going to be spending money and it's not something I go out of my way to look for

Who approved these changes to the desktop website!? This is absolutely horrible! I feel like im on a st&pid phone App! whoever is making these "improvements" Is a horrible thinker and makes terrible changes to the website. ring back the good old Howrse and stop making so many different things and makes things so expensive and have to keep buying passes. This is a money sucking game now. R.I.P the good old Howrse

Please put it back. This doesn't look good, it's cluttered, it takes longer to load on my computer, and everything is in different places and it's throwing me off with everything I do.

It's even worse on my mobile browser - images aren't loading, everything is out of order, it's running slowly. This is unusable. I can't play like this, it doesn't work.

I *had* planned on buying a custom pack this week. Not any more.

I can't FIND anything.

When I do find it, I don't RECOGNIZE it.

Even when I do recognize it, it doesn't WORK the same way.

If I wanted to play a whole new game, I would go looking for one!

I would actually be willing to pay passes to get the old interface back. The new one is just that bad.

I really thought there was some sort of glitch when I logged in today... I tried to find the Help Centre to ask if anyone else was seeing this, but I couldn't find it so I ended up just sending a ticket to Contact Us to report a bug. I'm not going back and cancelling it though.


Did I miss the warning that they were screwing up the layout of the regular version? I know they made changes to the mobile version but didn't realize they are sacrificing the web version for it. There was no need for this! If Howrse wants a mobile version that's fine, I'm sure some people use it, but who thought it was a good idea to focus on the mobile version and make the regular version worse?

I am playing on app version only. This change is a huge step back no no no for me.
I feeel like I turn back in time. It’s massive problem for me, app version is not playable anymore.
As an app user ona ta let I was happy hearing the news about horizontal layout but this….
At this point in time I think I will stop playing, just because of those changes.

I’m not a “forum” person, but what happpend with this update pushed me to share my opinion witch is huge NO.

I do not expect this to be turn back but at least can I choose to use previous app leyout ? Please ? default smiley :'(

The new menu bar I don't mind TOO much since I'll get used to it (although the extra click to reach the forums is annoying) but the completely unnecessary banner that follows you down the screen when you scroll is obnoxious. I don't need to see my equus count when I'm scrolling through the forums or checking my horse's stats, all it does it take up room on the page and look bad.

Grant you I haven't tried to do any horse care yet so I'm going to have to see if there's been a significant change there too. If there has and it's not user-friendly I'm going to probably have to dial back how much time I spend here. default smiley :(
