Ok, so i see there is a big debate between the free new players and the pass buyers. Here's my take.

1)Howrse is a game that is designed to make a profit for it's developers. Therefore, the pass buyers will always have a leg up because Howrse makes money off of them. However, I would say that over half of players do not buy passes. So, howrse has to try to accommodate both sides. In case you haven't noticed, it's a bit of a messy process. If you 100% can't handle not being able to reach that last tier, you have two options. Quit or Pay. For me, I've chosen to see if I can beat these good horses with mine. And I can sometimes. I've learned to settle with being second best, but not rolling over in defeat.

2) The top teams and breeders put A LOT of time and often real money into where they are right now. So don't think they got there by sitting on their hands. They have every right to defend their hard work. Because of their work, you can look up how to BLUP and Skill. They are the reason you don't have to figure this all out by yourself. So be a little more grateful to them for their work. I certainly am, even if sometimes their horses make my life more difficult. I know that it takes work. I've played this game for almost 4 years, and got my first divine THIS YEAR playing Etria, which isn't event part of howrse. I got my first rosette this year as well, after a lot of work and grinding out Skills based on tips I learned from them, and adapted to fit my style of doing things.

3) If you are a new player, success in this game isn't easy. But you can do it. High up on this page, and in my forum, I have a message for you guys. You can do it. Everyone here was you guys once.

4) The key here is that if you want to be good, it takes work. There are no hand outs. especially for free players like myself. That is why some high ranking players are so irritated, because all of their work means nothing if new players can just come and get success so easily. Even if the uni is 2000 to the top GP. Going from 2000 under top is a lot easier than a basic 350 gp to top GP, especially for top GP breeds like thoroughbred, selle francais, ect. No, that is not an exaggeration. Howrse's developers didn't just come in and raise everyone's GP. Players put in he work to push it there, 1 skill point at a time. Some of these players have been playing and working on their breeds for a long time. So please don't expect them to be happy with this new deal.

In the end, play your own game. No one says you have to be in the wacky GP race, You can go for best EC, or work with the rare breeds who don't have the massive teams pushing them up. You have options and choices. So respect others choices, and make your own choice.

You can see all the ways to get passes for free under section 1.7 of the breeder's manual. We haven't had any changes to it.

Hey, I'm trying to complete this cards promo, and I'm wondering roughly how many passes it will take also taking into account the special offers? I'm rather new to the game, so this is the first cards promo that I'm actually trying to finish, and I don't know what the likelihood of getting most of the cards is.

It will take about 20. Joker packs are 5 passes for 5 cards. And you need to buy 4 packs at least.

The debate on the Foundation uni GP probably now really belongs in the topic about the current event but it is being discussed here so I will answer here.

Concerning the gp of the foundation uni foals given by Kaktos: The base GP of a unicorn with parents Ouranos/Gaia is always a set percentage lower than the best pure unicorn in the game from the weakest unicorn breed. This is server specific so the gp of the Kaktos foals will be slightly different on different game versions.
