I like most of these, though if I were a kid, I might found some of them scary. But the one with the moving eyes is so cheesy it makes me laugh. default smiley :)

And btw, I was surprised by Baba Yaga, I thought they aren't really known outside Slavic cultures. I like how Howrse merges different cultures in their promos.

Hela is at level 7 of TC. On preprod I am currently at 431/1000 fragments, and I already wasted 6000 new passes.
Fragments count does not seem related to the level at which you fail. Looks like they are between 9 and 19. I am getting mostly about 12 per TC.

Well, there is a x3 fragment multiplier for collecting all the wandering horses, plus all the fragments you get while collecting the wandering horses. If you try the TC before you have the x3 multiplier, you're just choosing to throw your passes into a firepit.

Also, I love the look! I was actually "afraid" that Bogmany's eyes would close/blink. Which is 100x creepier than them just looking around. So I'm happy they only look around! The rest I think are stunning.

While yes, kids play and some of these are definitely scary for certain age groups, I'm glad that Owlient approved these. Halloween has a creepy element, and anyone who celebrates knows you can't really hide that. Also kids are super desensitized these days. They've seen worse. I think most kids will see them and think they are Halloween cool, not go cry to their mothers.

Oddly enough, I know that. Regardless, if without the multiplier it takes about 13000 passes to get the divine, with the highest multiplier it will take about 4000 passes to get it. Meaning multipliers don't do squad, because before we had multipliers it was exactly the same cost (40 old passes) to get the divine if you have no luck.

I have no idea why people think multipliers work for them. They came, but in the meantime price of divines in luck items went up (the chances went down). So in essential nothing changed. Surprise, surprise.

You're on test, so obviously you know that lol. But since you didn't mention it other people might be confused. So that was not directed at you, but at others who might read "6000 passes" and "12 fragments" and have their jaw drop because of that left out information.

The multipler makes a huge difference. Even if you feel it has the same effect as usual, it's still necessary to spend less passes than without it. I wouldn't recommend anyone just start using TC's on the first day of the event. The multiplier will be very important.

Thank you for saying this, I personally *love* the creepiness factor of all of them, including the blood and knives. As you said, kids are desensitized to things like that these days, I seriously doubt it will be a problem. As some players have mentioned before, much worse GA coats have found their way through voting and no one seems to bat an eye. I applaud Howrse's great effort and detail put into these coats.

I know right? I think Bogeyman looks really silly! Not sure how people find them scary but we all have our own things... A lot of people don't find Haunted doll scary but it creeps me out so bad, would of done so more if I was my kid self.

Everyone wondering why some are concerned about the scare factor:

You guys, kids are still totally afraid of this junk, this is not "modernized" for a lot of people. Especially people like me when I was a kid, I would have nightmares of seeing a single image of one of these horse illustrations or anything that would frighten me because of anxiety. Don't get me wrong, I love the creep factor now that I can handle it but not everyone can. I hope they add a censor or warning before people head to the page. ♡

I font think anyone is "wondering" in that sense. Some people will be uncomfortable and some kids could be scared. But you stating "when I was a kid" is half the point. You aren' and kids these days are much more exposed. My little cousins saw my Walking Dead comic book when they were 4 and 5 and said WALKING DEAD. And I was like how on Earth do you know about that? Not only that, but they said they loved Chucky. And I was like you dont know the first thing about Chucky! They told me the whole backstory of that killer doll. I'll admit, I was floored.

My point: Yes, we can't imagine some of the things kids see today. Because when a lot of us were growing up the internet wasn't a thing and TV was more heavily censored. Even certain words are on TV now like nothing when 15 years ago they were banned.

This next generation is different and they have grown up with access to everything online and much less censored TV and YouTube etc. I don't see a single kid in this thread complaining about nightmares. Just adults worried about kids who can honestly handle it.

I'm an adult and I don't want my eyes exposed to these grotesque images. So I will be boycotting this event. I encourage anyone else who feels this way to join me in abstaining.

I gathered all the fragments from the event first and got the 3x multiplier before trying. I had to fill the meter to get her, never made it to level 7. It took 14 TCs, so that's roughly 2800 passes to get her if you are patient and finish the wandering horse promo first. That is not too bad in my opinion.

You'll soon learn that "boycotts" on Howrse do not work -- people want the prizes, and that is largely that, when you get into the numbers. If you don't want to partake, that's all good, but trying to actively stage a protest on here tends to go poorly, historically.

I am far from a kid, chronologically (my toy collection suggests otherwise, in non-chronological terms). I was reading horror comics by age four, and have been deeply enjoying horror movies from about age six -- bless you, Hammer Studios, Christopher Lee, and Peter Cushing! These images would not have bothered me back then, in a time when "being a kid" was a **LOT** more sheltered than it is now.

If something bothers someone -- hey, don't put yourself into a situation that is seriously uncomfortable for you. I get that. I don't advocate for pushing your envelope over a Howrse contest. Not one bit. At the same time, I will *not* be the adult wringing her hand and clutching her pearls and shedding tears about "The Children!!" over a Howrse contest. Period.

The illustrations are cool, and I'm enjoying them.

Re: age appropriateness of the W_H_

Anecdotally, most of the active players on Howrse who state their age in their bios are adults or older teens. Ubisoft likely knows that browser strategy simulation games with static images are on the downswing, so it doesn't make business sense for them to market Howrse to a new audience if they have better games in their portfolio. I really believe that the vast majority of the population on here are people who joined during Howrse's prime as kids but grew up with it. I mean, Howrse even has a Facebook connect button, and you have to be older than 13 to join Facebook.

When it comes to hard data, Howrse has all of our dates of birth so I'm sure they have analytics available on the backend. It's obviously possible for people to lie about their age, but if you're a young child who tells a website you're an adult, then the natural consequence of your action is that you'll experience the website as an adult.

Thank you so much for this. Everyone is making such a big deal over some mildly ghoulish horse drawings. It's really not worth boycotting. I don't see little kids going, "Eeek! Scary horses!" It's fine guys, really. (:

Regarding the WH:

I do think that people are going little over board with how the wanderers look. Though, I myself was a little shocked at seeing them. They are a bit out of the "Howrse norm" for Halloween. Most of the time everything is kind of a goofy light hearted setup default smiley (lol).

I still like the horses, despite my dislike for creepiness and horror. (I am an adult but that doesn't mean I like scary things.) To say that they are too scary is a bit of a stretch. Actual monsters and fantasy creatures don't normally bother me. Except the clowndefault smiley (lol). Why? Because that can actually be real default smiley xd.

So yes, I agree that the horses are "darker" than usual and will be a bit of a shock as it was to me at first. But I like too see it as a "trick" from Howrse as opposed to the "treat". It will catch people by surprise but not scar them for life or worth criticizing howrse for. I have seen far worse.

Now as for young children, they are supposed to play with a parent or guardian on another account for reasons just as this. If they put in a different age to play as an adult, they did so at there own risk. Howrse will not be held responsible for anything a child sees that "might" be to scary, if they did not follow howrse guidelines.

I think Howrse did a fantastic job with the artwork. And I will play this event to the finish, despite my dislike for even mild horror. These horses, are worth getting at least for the art if nothing else.

About age and how the parent/legal guardian works. If you are under 13 years of age, a parent or legal guardian authorization is required and play on an account to monitor the minor's game play. The guardian is solely responsible for the minor's actions.

The reason I point this out, is because if someone thinks that the wanderers are to scary for children, the children are supposed to have a guardian playing Howrse with them whether they choose to do so or not. They are held responsible for the child's gameplay, well aware that some things may not be appropriate for -13 age. Now if the wanderers were above PG 13, then there might be an issue. But to me, this is not an R rated promo.

If you are an adult and still find the horses to be too much, then that is your opinion and you do not have to play. You are of the correct age to see it, but if it bothers you too much, don't play or have someone co-manage the event for you.

Everyone has their own opinion and I 100% get that. You are entitled to it. But you can't rant and complain about something you agreed to when registering to Howrse. I am not trying to insult or blame anyone. It's more of a reminder of what everyone has agreed to. Let's save the criticizem for after the event if you don't want it to return.

Again, not trying to make a point or attack anyone. I am only stating what has already been said. I have said my part and I will not continue it any farther so as to avoid conflict.

I am looking forward to the event. I have always loved the Wandering Horse promos and I really think Howrse did a great job.

I'm sure at the end of the day Howrse *normally* knows best, this event just seems out of the norm on how they do things. My concerns are nothing more than opinions, and should not alter anyone's game play or outlook. The only reason I speak out about this in general is concerns that I have, not everyone has the same opinion or same experience.

Still excited for this event though, love myself those big ol Holiday events. default smiley ^)

Speaking of exciting... The devine Hela,I love her. The art, the design, absolutely stunning.

Normally I am not a huge fan of the various coat BMI's given by divines, but the prize fits so well with her I'm not even mad. Never have I wanted a Divine so much before.

For White Lady you get 10 points per horse donated to Ow. Which equals out too 10 donated horses to equal 100 points. However, keep in mind that some of the wanderers task points might change when the event goes live. It has been stated on preprod that it could change. We won't know 100% what it will be until it is live. Just be prepared for a higher cost. default smiley ;)
