SJ: Selle/KWPN
XC: Gypsy/Shayga Arab or Akhal-Teke

Depends on what you're going for. If you just looking to do well in the prix, or in open competitions it doesn't matter at all.
For breed only comps though, you're better off having the breed with the general lower GP being dominant over the higher GP breed (Mawari, KWPN, Shayga/Akhal dominant).

I believe your question was already answered by RunNRide25, but best bet would be to cross with a mustang with the *other* breed you choose being dominant. Mustang x Marwari would be decent. Not sure right off what other breeds have the stamina, speeds, gallop skill set, but I *think* those are currently the two highest.

Any ideas on what would be best to cross with paints to potentially win rosettes? Been wanting to do a paint dominant skiller but cant decide is crossing with mustang for barrel comps or TB for gallop would be better. Or if some other cross or 3 or 4 way cross would be better

Has anyone ever done a perfect 5-way split (20% of all involved breeds)? I think I worked out on paper how it would go, but Howrse's rounding is the monkey wrench in predictions. I'd rather not blow all the APs trying to do it if someone's already tried and found it doesn't work

Gypsy's have the current highest GP with XC skill set, and S-Arabs and A-Ts are close to each other in those 2nd/3rd spots.

So I got bored waiting for y'all to answer my question from a week ago and gave it a go. A couple hundred APs down and I got 99.9% of a cocktail horse. Check this guy out.

His breeds are:
20% Australian Pony
20% French Trotter
20% Fjord
20.0% Marwari
19.9% Tennessee Walker

There's definitely some fuzzy math involved with this one. I will try to breed him back in search of that goal of a perfect 5-way split with 20% in each, but my AP stores are hurting and it's getting late.

Maybe make another with the 19.9% on a different breed, then breed the two?

Here is the "recipe" for creating a perfect 5-way cocktail. The letters A, B, C, D, and E represent the five different breeds you select. I have listed the horses by their proportions of each breed:

1st Gen: A + B = 50AB AND C + D = 50CD (this gen involves two couplings)
2nd Gen: 50AB + 50CD = 25ABCD
3rd Gen: E + 25ABCD = 50E/12.5ABCD
4th Gen: 50E/12.5ABCD + 25ABCD = 25E/18.8ABCD
5th Gen: 25E/18.8ABCD + 25ABCD = 21.9ABCD/12.5E
6th Gen: 25E/18.8ABCD + 21.9ABCD/12.5E = 20.3ABCD/18.8E
7th Gen: 25E/18.8ABCD + 20.3ABCD/18.8E = 21.9E/19.5ABCD
8th Gen: 21.9E/19.5ABCD + 20.3ABCD/18.8E = 20.3E/19.9ABCD

Be warned that it takes a while and several hundred APs to do (and possibly some ZBolts) depending on your luck in getting compatible foals since there's a lot of back-breeding.

Other notes:

All of your first-gen 20ABCDE horses will look like and be listed as whatever your breed E horse was.

As you do the generational breedings, all the horses that are not E-breed dominant will be listed as whatever your original 25ABCD horse was in terms of appearance and listed breed. In all of the cocktail horses I observed that the ABCD breeds ALWAYS showed up in the same order. There was no variation in the order in which those breeds were listed. Whatever the original 25ABCD horse had as their breed order list set the list order for all subsequent generations.

My next experiment will be breeding the two first-gen 20ABCDE horses together to see what their foals come out as and to see if their breed list orders move around.

Really happy with how this lady turned out! Top in trot and dressage for her breed. Gonna cross her with a TB/Lusi to get a Lusi that, hopefully, ranks for gallop. Fingers crossed!

I've skilled a horse named Breeder 36% a little bit, and she gives birth to non-purebred skiller preps to be future Grand Prix winners. She mostly does Lusitanos.

Does anyone know if Fjord/Haflinger crosses are good?

Not to be rude in any way, but no horse you'll breed with her will win any grand prix. First off, each day/competition requires a very specific set of skills that already aligns with a purebred breed skill set, and crossbreeds rarely, if ever, win. Also any horse that isn't already near top of the overall GP (which is around 17,000 at this point) doesn't stand a chance, and a horse that doesn't have high IBS is automatically not going to win either.



Hm, don't think I've seen any of those for awhile. They have overlapping skill sets (in dressage and stamina), so depending on which breed is dominant, you might be able to win some competitions, but looking at the breed skills, I couldn't tell you if they'd actually be *good* or not.
