I have a lovely walker x paso I use for reining Anything x Selle is fun because you can climb the rankings swiftly.

Right now I am doing XC crosses-- RDH x Selle is my favorite at the moment.

I have been playing with crossbreeding, I had an awesome paint mare, crossed that to the top GP stallion which was a Selle Francis, I have then crossed that to a Tennesse Walker, and this is my foal, not sure what to put her to once I have got some show wins under her belt

If having even skills is your goal then my suggestion would suggest Holsteiner as their best skills are gallop and jump where as your mare's worst skills are gallop and jump so that could benefit the offspring.

Depends on what your goal is.
They make great gallop rosette winners when crossed with Appaloosas: Older Gallop winner

I use them quite a bit in my Gypsy Vanner projects to bring up speed and gallop, but those are crossed with two other breeds as well.

It seems like I've used TBs a lot in my projects, as most of them have some percentage of TB in their heritage. They have high public GP though, so they're pretty easy to get a hold of.

Just finished bolding this cross of mine. ShetlandxSelle. Unless some other cross beats me to it, he should be #1 in the Shetland rankings for overall skills, speed, and jumping, along with 4th in dressage.

I am currently working towards CrossBreeding a Lustiano with a Lippizzaner to make a good dressage horse. Is this a good idea or is there a better combonation avaliable?

I heard that its possible to slightly change the skillset of purebreds by each generation choosing the two foals that have the skillset closest to what you want. I also heard that its a “cap” on it to stop people from completely changing the characteristics of the breeds. Is this true, and if so, are crossbreds any different? I want to try and make a cross that has one skill that is much better than its other skills (more than on a normal horse), but don’t want to use all my aging points on it without knowing if its possible or not.

Finished bolding this lady yesterday, Covered Mirrors is #1 in speed, #3 in gallop, and #10 in overall skills for the breed!

I don't remember what Lippis specialize in, but if both are dressage (dressage/gallop/trot) based you should be good.

If I had links to the horses in question I'd be able to give you a better estimate.

Does anyone breed for a lot of stats in the skill the competition has to determine difficulty, or do you breed for low skill in that to enter lower difficulty competitions?

Check out my two TB/PH crosses, they both excel in gallop competitions and rank high in the Paint Horse breed.

I usually breed for high skills in the 2nd and 3rd stats and lowest in the 1st stat for low difficulty competitions. That is the reason why my 7000 GP horse is still winning XC competitions.

Does anyone know of a team or player that may offer higher gp arabian covers for cross breeding (not looking to compete with purebred)? I have been looking but cannot find one that has a high enough gp for what I'm wanting.

If anyone is interested, this is my crossbred stallion who will hopefully be a cutting comp monster judging by the number of wins he already has and how his skills set is. GonnaCarryThatWeight.

In the past, players were able to flip the top skills of a purebred through ratio breeding as the GP of some horses are quite close at the 350 GP foundation level. The gallop and dressage of the 350 Chincoteague Ponies are only 2 points away for example. After a few years there was a sort of "block" implemented to prevent a dramatic change in a breed. You can only manipulate the skills so far until you can't. So likely for the same reason we can no longer breed from cross back to pure. Players were able to get huge jumps in GP by crossbreeding for a few generations.

Crossbreed doesn't have this restriction. Your foal's GP is going to be a rough average of the parents, and you can keep crossbreeding until you get the skill set you want. Midnight Pearl is a Newfoundland cross. I wanted to flip the top 3 skills of a Newfie with the bottom 3, so I crossed with a T.Walker, and did a bit of a 4-way style cross with only the two breeds. So her best skills are dressage, trot and stamina, instead of speed, gallop and jump.

You can then breed a horse that has one skill a good bit higher than the others. Jamie has a dressage GP of 1330, while the other skills are no greater than 1100. There are a few others in that Frasers project with a disproportionate skill set. I'm sure you get more extreme if you were careful about what breeds you used and so long as the GP available allows for it.

Now, whether you can ratio breed from there using siblings (to sort of mimic a purebred breeding line, I guess) to manipulate it further, I'm not too sure. With crossbreeding I just plug different breed's GP into my spreadsheet to do calculations and cross to get what I need.

I am looking for a horse with high gp. High jump and dressage with stamina being the lowest skill. Ideally would have Freisian but no KWPN. Anyone have any cross ideas? Even multi generations.

I'd do Holstie x Knab. (Holsties have jump as their first, dressage as third, and stamina as 5th.
Knabs have dressage as first, jump as third, and stamina as last.) I bred a test cross for you here. The skill order is Jump, Dressage, Gallop, Speed, Stamina, Trot.

Additionally, you could try Morgans. They have dressage as first, jump as second, stamina as 4th.

Friesians have stamina as third skill so I would HIGHLY recommend not including them in your cross. KWPN is obviously an ideal breed to include. If you don't want a KWPN cross you will sacrifice a lot of GP points.
