If you want to have them 'targeted' with low jump and high dressage and speed then trotting, galloping or cutting breeds might work?

Does anyone know of any crosses that give the same skill set as a KWPN but with high GP?

I have an 11s Marwari/TB with Marwari listed second. I also have a Marwari stallion (and mare!) with 11s, the mare isn’t BLUPed yet though.

I am wanting to breed a crossie that will win some western rosettes. I am far more familiar with classical crosses, hence my posting here. All the crosses I found are good, but usually one of my picked breeds doesn't have any horses with high enough GP in the sales or covers. I'm really open to any of the comps, I just want to try something new. Any suggestions? Thanks!!

Number 3 is very promising for Western, you'll have to choose between barreling and reining if you want to target train.

Agree with avanderloop. Also if you do Grand Prix then she'd be a possibility for Reining in that. She looks about level with my tops in that at the moment, though with a slightly different balance. That might put her in the 300s/400s. I.e. not winning but I'm currently chasing a top 100 in the weekly overall list with that sort of level.

Is that Star? Yes, I went and looked... I would leave off breeding her and finish her training and get her 20 wins first, that way she'll pass on as many abilities as possible. I think the Gypsy cross you've already done would be a good one for Western. For Classical I'd try a Peruvian Paso, which would bring her speed, dressage and trot up, but hopefully leave stamina, jump, trot and gallop under the speed and dressage. The foal would likely be at a disadvantage in comps for those breed though: it would probably work a bit better with a Connie male and mares of those breeds so you could enter the results in comps for Connies.

Just did this cross last night she's #5 Overall, #2 in trot, #3 in Gallop, and #13 in jumping... for Friesians that is! I have her twin brother, if anyone is interested in him let me know!

It's been a minute since I actually posted a new foal in here. Since shelving some old projects, I've returned my focus to mostly pure Morgans and Morabs. And a looooong time ago I wanted to do two separate lines of Morabs, regular Morabs (morgan x arabian) and Shagya Morabs (morgan x shagya arabian). Well, I'm proud to introduce this little fella by Funk Master out of Techno DJ.

*side note: I've actually changed my affixes as well. Kind of like a fresh start with the refocusing. So my Drop Dead Diva morabs are now known as Southern Morabs.

Random question, but if you are planning on breeding and target training a foal, would you want to BLUP the parents? I'm a little confused

I always blup the parents, simply so that the foal comes out with a better GP and IBS, if you are just experimenting and trying to figure out what crosses have what skill sets and don't care if it's skills are great then I suppose you wouldn't necessarily need to.

This little girl is my Arab/TB cross. Her parents were not fully BLUPed. Can't decide Classical or Western, but her Gallop is outrageously high.

I think that's pretty ideal for either cutting or barrels.

A second cross with roughly the same GP but from fully BLUPed parents with tears... I’m leaning Classical (for Dressage and Gallop comps) but I’d like another opinion. I’d send a link but I’m on mobile so I can’t. His name is Nukhri and he’s in my Other Horses farm.
