no. Welsh ponies are too low gp and aren't speedy enough.

I know that Mauritania have good trot and gallop, I'm not sure how well it would mix with a selle though..

Most dressage horses have good trot and gallop. You could also cross with a Western Pleasure horse and a Gallop/Reining horse and then cross that to a Selle (not sure if it would work)

Here’s a tip for finding the top skills of a cross:
Give each skill of the parent a number 1-6, 6 being the highest skill.
Average the numbers. The three highest numbers decide the highest skills. It’s not exact but if you’re working with unknowns, it works

I just purchased a great little Lusitano (purebred) colt I want to use for cross-breeding, but I know nothing about the breed at all. In people's experience, what is the Lusitano best for and what would be a good cross? I personally tend to focus on show-jumping and cross-country, but I'm certainly willing to try something new.

lusis are for dressage. Their top skills are dressage, trot, gallop. not good for jump or xc. Not really wonderful for cross breeding unless you want to just do a cross with a friesian or nokota.

I have a GV/Selle cross I've been crossing with a Lusi mare. Turns out you get decent Cross Country horses from that, but you might have to add in another breed to clean up the skills.

Good cross country horses have high stamina, dressage, and jumping.
The best breeds for that are (the order may be messed up)

Tekes
Arabs
Barbs
Gypsies
Canadian Horses
Russian Dons
Connie’s
And Shagys Arabs

However, I don’t recommend having a Gypsy dominant cross to enter in competitions intended for the breed, since they are the current skillers, you’ll likely get totally stomped. I learned that the hard way, with paint crosses.

The best show jumpers are definitely KWPN and Selles. You could throw in Shetland, aussies, or Hanos too, but they lack some of the high skills you may be looking for.

It takes a lot of trial and error, honestly. I learned a LOT about cross breeding from YouTube videos from Howrse players, and I recommend them 10/10 times.

A Lusi/Nokota cross would probably do well in Trail class too.

And since I’m here posting, before I go off to bed, does anybody have examples of App/TB crosses? Either breed as dominant. I’m curious as to which dominant breed is more successful in the gallop comps.

Appaloosa dominant crosses do much better in comps, thoroughbreds are skillers and have a high GP. Appaloosa's are lower

Something that many of you might want to consider is that you can win a LOT of comps with a target trained horse. That means to aim for the lowest comp in the main skill required but have high values in the secondary skills.

An example is a horse with very low stamina but high dressage and jump entering cross country comps OR a low trot with high speed and dressage in trot racing.

You will not win rosettes but that is a tough task unless you have the most current genetics or a lot of time to find the scare rosette comp that has not been entered with the "Prix breeds".

To clarify, the crosses I was talking about are 50% Lusitano, 25% GV, and 25% Selle

The horse has a Lusitano appearance.
The dressage is by far the dominant skill. It has potential to do well in almost all comps. It is still a decent dressage horse, and it could do reining as well as cross country. The stamina is a little too low to win Rosettes, but breeding it into a four- way cross to maintain the Lusi appearance and clean up the skills could help.
