Update on my Fri mare cross. We are at 409 xc wins. This is super difficult because she only wins breed only comps

Out of curiosity, has anyone done a Shettie/Selle cross?

Now we are at 451 wins. We are getting there!!!

Christmas Globe is a direct cross, Shetland dominant.

I also have Geranium Lake and her papa, Red, who are more diluted with other breeds.

Geranium was the only one I seriously comped, but I haven't worked her for awhile.

I've been working on my Marwari crosses and love them, but I was wanting to branch out a little more. What are some good/easy crosses to comp? I have access to passes, but prefer not to use them.

I'm working on some Paint dominant TB crosses, but was curious about what you all have had good luck with.

I have a couple of older crosses you can take a look at (some will be blupped, some won't) to see if there is any crosses you like. As you can probably tell, I like Selle crosses haha.

520 wins for my girl. Hoping by the end of this month, we can get into the rankings. Started up a new filly today as well to have a shot at WP wins rankings

How would a paint/selle cross look? Would it be stronger in jump? anyone have an example of a recent skiller mixed with these?

If no one has a high GP example of that cross, what you could do is go through the sales, covers or your breeding farms and pick out the stallion and mare you'd like to use. The foal takes half of each genetic from each parent, so if you're looking at jump skill in particular you'll want to take the average of the parent's jump skills.

For example, if you were to breed the top Selle with the top Paint horse, you'd add their jump GPs together, then divide by 2. Your foal would have a jump GP of roughly 1922, which would be pretty good if the foal were Paint dominant entering in breed only show jumping comps. That doesn't take into account the random factor, or the gain, but it still gives you a pretty close idea

Is it better to have GV or Arab dominant in a GVxArab cross?

Due to the recent popularity of GV, I would say Arab would be best as dominant.

These crosses dominate in breed only Jump comps. In fact, amylinn's example above if one I breed last year. Appy/Selles are great as well. In my breeding tab, Project Dirty, I have a more recent Paint/Selle filly and an older cross you could look at.



Okay all, I need some help. If I wanted to breed a 5 way and come out with 20% of each breed, how might I go about doing so? And if I wanted a particular breed to be dominate, how would that work? I've never done a 5 way before..

They're might be an easier way to do this, but a 20% 5-way I have was born from two 4-ways. Since the parents had different listed breeds from each other in their genetics the foal took the father's second listed breed. If you want the dominant breed to be Paint, or whatever, make sure the sire's second listed breed is Paint.

Okay, so my project is to breed an Appy/Paint/Walker/Mustang/Morgan. I would prefer a Mustang dominant 5way. I have a Paint mare already so does anyone have a stallion of the other breeds I could use?

Looking to start cross breeding selle Français’, what would people recommend for Grand Prix placings and rosettes?

I have this guy I could finish blupping for you. I don't know how high you want the GP. I also have a Mustang mare I can bolt and finish blupping. This is her. She has relatively high GP (sort of, but higher than my Walker).

If I have a Gypsy Vanner/Arabian cross that is 75% Arabian and a GV/Arabian cross that is 50/50 what part Arabian would the foal be? I know I should be able to figure this out but I am just getting into cross breeding so any suggestions?

It will be 62.5 Arab and 37.5 GV. All you do is add the two numbers together (arab with arab and GV with GV) and then divide by 2. It will give you the percentage for both.
