I have three 8150-8151GP mustang fillies that I can blup real quick if you wanted.
Hello fellow crossbreeders just stopping by to say hello from work. Wish I could work my compers!

So I bought This Lust mare and decided to try and make a new crossie for myself, I want to increase the gallop but I also don't want to drastically lose trot, which I feel is super hard. Does anyone have any ideas?

S'ok. Got the stang foal I neededdefault smiley :) Just need to rustle up some bolts eventually. Got my 1st 8 mares for this secret project bred. I'll breed 8 more today. I'm excited to see what happens, but the other half of the project isn't ready yet. I hate that lol

I bred a reining cross in hopes to get my Grand Prix fountain back, it placed 64th in the Prix and is the top Vanner for gallop default smiley :)

Since I kept it as a mare now I should figure out what to breed her with. I was thinking of adding in haflinger, trakehner and lipizzan to improve all the right skills a bit, but that will drag down the overall GP.

That's the million dollar question every cross-breeder struggles with at some point default smiley (lol)
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure there is no breed that has high gallop without also having low trot (other than Lusitano).

Are you looking for the foal to be a 50/50 cross? If not, maybe try a crossbred horse breeding with your mare; that might work.default smiley :)
i've got some high gp gypsy mares, what are everyone's favorite gypsy crosses??

Not very specific, but anything that brings up the speed will work in breed only Gypsy comps.
GVxTB crosses like lyrael posted are very versatile.
These are two I have, one being
Gypsy dominant
and TB dominant

Carminedid well in western. She's a GV/Criollo/Appy cross

This GVxSelle did great too
Oh, and same for Apricot, an Appy dominant AppxGV cross. I think I entered her in breed only App comps for the most part, but it was a while back so I'm not too sure

Which one of your GVs would be one of the parents? I can input it in my spreadsheet with whatever is top in covers for Lus and take a look

Ok, this is what I got when bred to a 9129.5GP Lus in public covers, and since the GP is at the top end, it should be pretty close as you won't get a huge gain.
Stamina: 1637
Speed: 781.41
Dressage: 2043.29
Gallop: 1573.295
Trot: 1325.98
Jump: 1523.49
Overall GP: 8884.485

Looks pretty good. I don't know if there are a lot of Lus only cross country comps available, but this horse would probably do well in that. Or it would do well target trained in barrel racing with the low speed. Might do decent in trail as well, and reining. So western might be your best bet. It would rock breed only comps, I just don't know if there are a whole lot for Lus, but it might surprise you in open. You never knowdefault smiley :)
