It's not really that I need equus I just think he has low IBS and I really want a good stud as I breed all my mares back to that one stud....
By Retired breeder, 2nd June 2010 21:48:38
Well if you feel that way about him then sell, don't waste equus and bm's skilling him up default smiley :)
By Retired breeder, 2nd June 2010 21:49:57
Yeah that's what I was thinking....... I just dont know what to sell him for.... I dont think I should want much
By Retired breeder, 2nd June 2010 23:13:37
I'm thinking of doing a Canadian / TB cross...Canadian as dominate. I think it would be good for the comps - my first mare did okay in gallop comps, she got 6 wins for gallop. But she did really well in trot... she got 15 wins there.

So... is a Canadian / TB cross good???
By Retired breeder, 2nd June 2010 23:15:34
I'm also going to try Freisian / Hano crosses. default smiley :-))

I am breeding thoroughbred/arabian crosses. The breed can be either. They are doing well and I'm getting good foals. My fam is Echo Corner Crossbreds.

TIP: Try breeding similar breeds. the results are normally good. Not saying distant breed crosses are bad.... default smiley :)

Cute Cherokee! Good stars too.

Eventergal- if you need new blood in your Tb/Arab stock, I've got a 23* (close to 24*) Tb/Arab stallion that will be at 100BLUP in a few days. (Waiting for him to end his boarding in an EC, then aging him to 12 years)

Showjumper- A canadian/Tb is a canadian horse that is better at speed and galloping than pure canadians. So you are breeding for Canadians better at galloping races, although if you really want to do that then I'd find a breed that would bring up the dressage as well as speed and gallop.

That's a pretty darn good find there. It will be interesting to see the outcome Cherokee. ) Do tell us when the foal is born.
By Retired breeder, 3rd June 2010 01:06:40
I know I saw her in the sales and I was like I like.... I might try to BLUP her tonight if I can get some passes in my hands.
By Retired breeder, 3rd June 2010 01:30:01
Thanks RoseBlood. Maybe I should try and throw a little irish hunter into the mix?? It might take a while but it might work... I got a good hanoverian mare and I am blupping her right now. I only need to blup jumping and speed and only 9 more wins!!
By Retired breeder, 3rd June 2010 01:30:20
Well, I threw a Nyx Pack on her and am BLUPing her.
