Foxy, yes. I've taken a look at quite a few horses and compared them to ones with less stars but used WOYs, and the ones with less stars and WOYs had better skills. But its still pretty good. I have to go for a bit bye!

I personally always use woy on crosses. To me part of the point of cross breeding is to get a superior comp horse.

I fully deck out my crosses-but even if I didn't go all the way with that, I would for sure always use WoY, otherwise its just pointless. I learned that lesson long ago with one of my first crosses. And had it proved to me when I got a mare back that I gifted someone that did crosses that was quiting the game-she hadn't given her WoY and she is pretty much ruined as far as getting anywere close to what her twin is.

Just wanted to say that Paintaloosa's Coat actually looks a lot like a Real Life Paintaloosa Filly that I want to buy. Just add spots across her nose and you have the filly that I want pretty much.


Oh and I didn't know when to use WOY either. I do appreciate the advice. Just one question do you guys put WOY on your horses before or after they are 100 blupped? Because I feel like putting it on them before they are 10 years old slows down the Training. Let me know what you think. Thanks.

i reckon that if you do this breeding chart you will get a great SJ comp horse:

Hano + IH = 50% 50%
IH Hano + Paint Hano = 50% 25% 25%
i think this would work since a hano's top skills are : Gallop, Speed & Jump. A Paint's top 3 skills are : Gallop, Speed & Dressage. A IH's top 3 skills are : Gallop, Dressage & Stamina

Speed, Dressage & Jumping are the 3 skills needed to excell in SJ it is easier in this chart

Paint (Speed) IH (Dressage) Hano (Jump) hano has 50% becuase IHs and paints do not have jumping in there top three skills whereas IHs and Paints have dressage in the top three skills and paint and hanos have speed in there top three skills

here is a better way again using foundations

Paint : 90% (speed) 71% (dressage) 69% (gallop)
Hano : 90% (jump) 73% (speed) 68% (gallop)
Irish Hunter : 90% (dressage) 75% (stamina) 70% (gallop)

notice all the 90% they aree the top three skills but then you needed to have them into thirds equally.

shame i don't know whether it will work since i will have to spend passes but i will try it out when i have skilled a horse to make money

Paint - Thoroughbred - Irish Hunter

Paint (speed) Thoroughbred (gallop) Irish Hunter (dressage) perfect really

Paintedmare, you want to put WOY on as soon as the horse can start doing lessons. The purpose of using it is to max out lesson gains. So if you wait till it's BLUPed, you will lose a lot of lessons. It does take longer for training etc, but it's worth it.

I have a question - I know having a timer cuts training in half, but does having a WOY cut it in half again? If you use just a WOY and not a timer, do you still get quicker results because your horse can have twice as many days training before 10 years old? I have always wondered this and you folks seem like the people to ask! Thanks!

Using a woy and not a timer will not give you the same results. It's like training a horse that ages every 2 months without a timer. It will take you until the horse is 20 or so to fully bold it. I have done it and would not recommend it. Very frustrating,

I always put woy on when the horse is 2. Like someone else said, you will miss out on a lot of lessons if you wait until the horse is 10. Kinda defeats the purpose then.

Thanks lolita, I would put a WOY on a young horse too, otherwise you only get 50% of its use really.

I have a paint mare that I have fully BLUPPED and now had two foals from without a timer and she's still only about 15 She was really easy to BLUP, it's not usually so easy without a timer! LOL.

and Thoroughbreds / Irish Hunters.

Fat Grey Pony, I have several such crosses up in the auctions right now, if you look under my sales you'll see that I have TONS of babies that are in the 750s and up with lots of stars. I am trimming down the number of horses in my breeding farms because my hiney is starting to hurt from sitting in front of the computer all day, lol/

Painted, I am glad to see she is doing well! She was a fun cross to produce.

Tb/Irish hunter is a great cross. I personally like 50% tb/25% hunter/25% arab. Makes a great xc horse and has great dressage. Here is one I bred back in the fall.

Very nice crossbred everyone Ugh, after just reading the last few posts I finally decided to give my horse woy, but she's already 7 years and 2 months. It's going to take forever to finish her training! She only has 900 skills, so hopefully it better be worth it.

ONLY 900 skills?! i don't have a horse with 900 skills at all. I have one with 800+ skills, but thats the highest.
