I'm wanting to crossbreed Misaki, Shagya Arabian, Lipizzan and Australian pony's but I'm not sure what they could all breed with, I haven't done any prior crossbreeding, but I understand it will take a long time to produce a rosette horse of each that I previously mentioned.

I managed to win a rosette with Tomori, a Thoroughbred and Appaloosa cross. She's my first crossbred rosette winner. I will admit say that I mainly dabble in crossbreeding, but I'm proud of how she came out. default smiley :-))

I've always had the best results getting consistent crossbred rosette winners out of pairing breeds with the same, or similar skill sets, that also have targeted genetics. Some breeds, like the Misaki, have "oddball" skill sets whose top 3 skills don't correspond to a competition, and they're also more evenly distributed so that, even if you crossed them with a breed that had a similar genetic skill set, the Misaki's lowered genetics are going to heavily bring down the breed(s) you cross with

The Shagya and Australian Pony have a similar disadvantage. Both of these breeds do have a skill set designed for a specific competition, but their distribution still isn't as targeted towards the needed skills like the dominant Prix breeds. By "targeted" I mean that the horse's overall GP is given more towards 3 particular skills, rather than spread between 4, 5, or even all 6. It's why some breeds, Selles, dominant the Prix over other breeds with the same overall GP. Its genetics are shoved towards speed, jump and dressage, while the Australian Pony's is spread out more. Their public GP is also quite a bit lower than the top, which sets you back quite a bit more.

I like recommending a KWPN dominant KWPN x Selle cross for show jumping, or Thoroughbred x Appaloosa cross for gallop because both pairs have high public GP, and have similar skill sets that are both highly targeted towards those skills. They also have breed only comps, which is great because a KWPN x Selle cross can't beat a purebred Selle (unless you breed a few generations beyond the top), because the KWPN speed brings down the Selle quite a bit, but it can beat a purebred KWPN.

All that being said, what you can do is start running calculations with potential pairs, and just compare your estimated results with the top horses. Sometimes you can get lucky with the GP available in sales or covers, and you might be entering rosettes on a less competitive day.

Best breed to enhance gallop, trot, and jumping? Really looking for a horse to dominate in all western comps to breed with a criollo x paint x appy mare

Thanks! I just breed whatever is ready to be bred, sometimes cross-breds, sometimes pure-breds. I am going to start thinking about what I am breeding for good quality show skills.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a cross that would have high trot and jumping skills and a high GP? My crosses have all been poor at trail classes and I thought it might be fun to give it another go. At least with low level comps, I'm not quite ready to give rosettes another try yet

Hello,
I wanted to know which two breeds of horses i could cross breed to have a relatively even skill distribution, where the top 3 skills and the rest are similar to an extent.
Thanks default smiley ^)

There may be some other options, but off the top of my head, a Paso x Trakhener cross would work for this. When using similar GP horses, all of the foal's stats could potentially be within 500 points of each other. I ran the calculations based on two top horses, so it may differ a bit depending on the GP you're able to get.

I'm looking for a crossbreed that would do very well in XC or Jumping. Any thoughts?

If I were to breed Fair Charmin who is 50% Paint and 50% Thoroughbred to another exact cross as she, and they both have the Paint Horse coat, would it still be a 50/50 chance of the foal coming out as a Paint?

When both parents have the same breeds evenly split between them like that, the foal usually takes the dam's last listed breed. Since Fair Charmin is the mare, the foal should be a Paint, as that's her last listed breed.

A crossbred's breed usually isn't down to probability. The game chooses from a slot depending on the type of cross, or if the breeds are uneven, it'll be the breed with the highest percentage between the parentsdefault smiley :)

My latest crossbred foal is Tsukuyomi. She's the daughter of Tomori, my Thoroughbred/Appaloosa rosette winner. Hopefully Tsukuyomi will follow in her mother's footsteps and do well in gallop races. default smiley :-))

I finished Blupping Aki, Tomori's second foal. Aki is part of my second generation of TB/Appy rosette winning crosses. I've been moving fairly slowly on my crossbreeding project, but I'm proud that I've produced multiple generations of rosette winners. default smiley (l)
