Maybe a TW or a Nokota? I'll put in some GPs and get back to you on those.

Hello there crossbreeders topic! I would be interested in doing a Mustang X Nokota cross. 50% each direction (if that makes sense). If anyonw would like to maybe start that up, please pm me. Thanks! default smiley (y)

Complete noob at crossbreeding heredefault smiley :p

what breed of horse would be good to breed with a QH? Something good in trot and Stamina, maybe jumping would be nice.
By Retired breeder, 5th September 2017 21:39:13

Maybe a TW for trot and stamina, Selle/and or KWPN for jumping? KWPN might be better for jumping

Or I have Gallop Standardbred crosses using QH if you want a look at em. Very nice for gallop competitions in breedonly and SJ in general

Depends what your end goal is (comp wise) or if you're just breeding for rankings. If rankings is your goal, breeding to the overall highest GP ranked breed in the desired skill is the way to go and just use a male QH over the other breed.

For competing, I prefer 4 ways to balance out and boost multiple skills better. QH/Stang/Selle/KWPN would be good for jump I believe. A QH/TB/Stang/Criollo should give you a nice Western comper for Reigning, Cutting and Barrels I think.

This other player and I are breeding Selle Gypsies, which are crossbreed mixes of Selle Francais horses & Gypsy Vanners. Here is a description:
Selle Gypsies are Selle Francais horses crossed with Gypsy Vanners horses. They excel at Jumping, Stamina, Dressage, speed, and gallop. They are great cross country horses, and with bonus jumping skills from the Selle Francais, they can easily defeat Gypsy Vanners with close Genetic Potentials.

Anyway, just wanted to let all the other crossbreeders know about this incredible breed. default smiley :-))

I am currently working on breeding Selle/TB crosses. I am planning on them being 50/50 crosses that will specialize in jumping. Most of my TBs are good at Show Jumping, almost as well as Gallop races so I think they will do well. Please let me know if you have suggestions for breed ideas to also try or if you would like to work along with me.

Any good Selle crosses I should try? I have a Selle/TB planned for next. Many thanks to keepsake for letting me use her QH mare to try a Selle/QH cross.
*bows* Welcome. Now to retire my TB mare somehow lol Think I've got a Crio mare to retire too, but I forget. Yep...I do. Currently have a Lusi/Selle foal coming and am very excited to see what I get default smiley :d

Ooh! Let me know how it goes! (As if I need another cross to add to the never ending list default smiley (lol))
Surprisingly, going back to the Russian Don cross I did a few weeks ago, I've decided to try another, doing a Russian Selle. We'll see how it turns out. I'm hoping that speed will top stamina.
Wiggly!

I wanted to foal her out right away lol

Ooh! Nice one.

I bred two Selle x Appy crosses I really liked
Horse 1
Horse 2

They did really well in Western Pleasure when I Blupped them. They might not be the best example for this particular cross because I think I stopped comping them when I got their wins so I'm not sure how they'd do in classical.

Best to cross with a TB? Any Ideas? What do they do well in for you also?

Depends on what you're breeding for.

I tried a Mustang/TB with Bandito15 and you can check the ★мust вε thoяougнвяεds★ affix. I know that there aren't very many horses in there but we are working to improve! default smiley (y)
