Hello! I was looking to start cross breeding. Im not sure which breeds, which parent should be wich breed, etc. I have no expirience with cross breeding. I would like a good dressage horse that will get tons of skills. Any tips? Detail would be appreciated!

Well first you should know that with a 50/50 cross were you breed two purebred horses of different breeds, the foal will look like the fathers breed. I here that IH/friesian make good dressage horses and excellant EC boosters. My friend itunes9.0 breeds them and they reach close to or over 300 dressage. In fact, my filly, Dressy Lady, in my Simply Crossed tab, is one of his.

Ok thanks! And when you breed two purebreds together, you get a 50/50. What kind of cross would you breed to that one?

Any you like. Some people breed to another 50/50, or back to a purebred or to any other cross they think will go well. It doesn't matter. It is all about what you want to get out of the foal.

Thanks so much! And does it matter which breed is the mother and which is the father? LIke will a IH mare/fresian stally produce better/worse foal than a fresian mare/IH stally

IH/friesian is fab cross, my stally made no.1 friesian on elite boards. Think he's no5 or something now. He helps to hold my 24e lessons up too, his dressage is 318.20. If your wanting high skills you would be better off with ih mother as they are much higher than friesians gp wise

hey default smiley :) I have been thinking about something along the lines of an Anglo-Arab.. but didn't know if there was a big following for that here.. I'm going to try a few different breeds but just kind of started safe with my 2 favorites (Arabian and TB).. what do ya'll think?

Here is my...spanish horse Volcanic Patience. I he's a Purebred Spanish Horse - I KNOW hes a purebred. I want to bred spanish horses for high speed. When I get a mare, what should i breed her too to get high speed??

*Hint* spanish horses are good at show jumping. In two agings my spanish horse got 6 first place wins in show jumping. default smiley ;)
