I Schleich Horses!!!

I luv schliech horse models.

I named mine Mayflower. (named it off the pilgrims ship. Don't ask me why. It just came to me at the time.)

Haven't got any new Schleichs recently. . . I am eyeing the new dun Andalusian mare though.

And I might get the Lipizanner mare as well - she looks gorgeous with her braided mane. My Lipizanner colt has been without a mare model for 4 years now.

You should definitely get the Lipizzaner mare! I have her and she's awesome! One of my favorite models to make tack for!

Maybe. Depends on how much leftover Christmas money I have. . .

Here's a list of some Schleich I want to get~
* Dun Andalusian mare
* Camargue stallion (or is it a gelding?)
* Hanoverian stallion and foal
* Trakehner mare

Has anyone else noticed that the new schleich this year are bigger? I have bought the halflinger mare, Tennessee walker mare, Tennessee walker stallion, and Andalusian stallion. The Andalusian is taller than my Frisians and my halflinger is taller than the other halflingers.
Has anyone found the thoroughbred set yet?

I bought a white lippizaner mare-filly pack and still haven't named them.

I love Schleich!
I have 250 model horses and 400 other models. Many are now retired. I'm a serious collector. I have 4 buildings. I have been collecting for 9 years. I am thinking about entering model horse shows. Does anyone know how they're judged or where a good place to start is? Are they all online or are there shows you have to travel to? Thanks guys.

Model horse shows have many different classes you can enter. In performance classes, you set up a scene with your models. For example, if you had entered a dressage class, you would make the scene look like a horse in a dressage competition. It's like a freeze frame. In collectibility classes, you are judged on the rarity of the model, the desirability of the model, the quality of the model and the condition of it. In conformation classes, it is similar to collectibility classes but it is judged less on the rarity of the model and more on the condition and quality of it.

You can either go to the show live and take your models there or send in a photo of the scene. Normally if you're in a collectibility or conformation class you have to travel to the show. Traveling to a show is better because you can pick up tips from the other competitors and usually you can buy models at the show to complete your collection. It also makes for a nice day out. However, online shows are often more convenient since live shows can be few and far between.
