You could do the tinker foal palomino or buckskin...

Dappling? Paint it grey, then *lightly* dab on some round spots. Make them fade more toward the knees and head.

Yeah I have seen the bottom two customs before! I really think the Andy mare and stallion and the old Haniverian mare look GREAT in every color!

Oh, for the tape thing I said that the hay thing would be your best bet, and for the swatches, maybe a pedastol or some sort of table if you put something under it.

Can't find much for countertop swatches... I found a bunch of paint swatch crafts, and had an idea: a countertop swatch, and a clip, one of those clamp triangle clip things. They might be called binder clips. Just open it, put glue on one side, slide it onto the swatch overtop the hole, and your have a mini clipboard, probably an ideal size for Barbie and such. Sorry that had nothing to do with Schleich except my failure to find Schleich stuff

You said customs? How? I have a huge Schleich collection but I have never heard of customs!

Can I have some tips on shading?

I attempted my very first custom today....... It's not on an actual schliech model but the one I used is very close to schliech sized. I personally think that there may be just too much going on but give me a second and I'll upload some pics

A custom is a horse you or somebody else painted to look different from the original. This goes for all horse brands, not just Schleich. People also customize Schleich riders, dogs, etc.

That's super cool! My first was turning a white papo into a dun QH. I also did one where I turned the hafflinger stallion into a knabstruper stallion.

My first custom was making the Safari Clydesdale foal into a buckskin for my friend. It was a suede color, it had sock of course, a bald face, and I tried to do it how breyer does with the color getting darker toward the markings. It had a medium brown mane and tail with lighter highlights.

My second and third (did them at the same time) are Safari Arabians- the standing mare, and the foal. I was going to make the foal a red bay, but I forgot her black socks. I might add them someday though, even overtop the mod podge. The mare is a roan, and she used to be quite a bright and reddish roan, but I changed her- now she's much darker, and has tons more shading. I actually like it!

OMG I need to go to micheals, but right now if we have time to go to a store, it's lowes. Or maybe Home Depot. Or really anywhere with cleaning supplies and paint but I want to get 3 or 4 Arab foals to resculpt to start RMAFS! Then after we move, I think we'll tons of boxes if we move... The inspectors found all sorts of things "wrong" with our house. We're just mad about the board HE BROKE on the end of our porch, past the railing where nobody should be standing. And then there's the router that he broke... We hate that inspector! Anyways I have no time to go but horses! well at least my parents don't have time to take me

My dad goes to Lowes like every day.! I get SOO tired of it. He's always building something. Sometimes I try to entice him to build a jump for our barn but he says "bring out the cash!" I need to go to Michaels to get jump rings and chains for stalls.

The cash? He wants you to pay him? Your real or Schleich barn? Super confused my friend got tons of chain at Walmart and I don't think it was too expensive so if you can't get to micheals try there!

Ok so I am going to go water my watercolor pencil drawings. I am doing: a portrait of Magic, my Dartmoor stallion. A picture of a rose grey GV running on a hilltop with a feild and another hill with trees on it it the background, and also a path, i finished that one like 10-15 minutes ago. And a portrait of Silver, my safari GV stallion. After I do those two horses, I'll have watercolors of 5 of my like 20 horses.... Oh no wait 6! I have Twist, Petal, Bella, El, and now Magic and Silver! Yay!
