Whichever horse is really old that has so many countless scratches work best, whichever model you prefer, I like horses the have the shape of a show horse, and I change them to look like famous horses like a pleasure horse or secretarieat. I like horses poses for a calm horse, and make it a lesson horse like an old AQHA.

I have 3 retired Shire geldings.. Bit they were some of my first schleichs. My lipizzaner gelding is also one of my firsts ..Maybe I should customize a camrgue..

any tips or tricks on customizing?

Um, put a primer, or white coat before you paint, and try to paint it clean! And put a gloss on it afterwards if you want.

I think the gloss makes them look way too much.... fake, toy-ish, to shiny

Um, I think very nuetral, you might have to mix a few colors to get the right one, micheals works.
