Don't really have a wishlist, there are a few horses I would like, but I know I am going to have to find and buy them on my own

We do some kind of present game now, till four years back we just had presents at our grandparents, then a few years suprises and then last year the present game.
The present game is just kinda a way of getting some small presents, we get bigs presents for christmas.
Uhg explaining things in english is difficult
I used to get so much schleich when we still did presents at my grandparents, now I barely get anything, just a few for my birthday

That sounds fun and sinterklaas sounds fun, I live in America so I don't celebrate sinterklaas but I was wondering how it works.

well

around the third week of novemer sinterklaas gets to the netherlands from spain on his steamboat. he brings with him his horse and pieten (petes). when he arrives each town/city hold a parede where the sint is welcomed. during which his pieten distribute candy to children. after he has been welcomed kids place their shoe at the fireplace ( or a door if they have none) and they sing one or more sinterklaas songs. they may also leave gifts like drawings or carrots for the horse. the next morning they will find candy or a small present in their shoe. the shoe can be replaced every night until december 5th when the big evening pakjesavond (giftevening) is. that evening sint brings gifts and candy for all family members. when kids grow up and realise that sinterklaas doesnt actually exist the celebration changes.
pretty much always the shoe isnt placed by the door anymore. and families may chose to skip the sint and do gifts at christmas. some families like mine chose to still do gifts just a bit less. and others chose to make suprises. a family meber gets a piece of paper where they write their names and the gifts they whish to get. the papers are put together and evreyone draws on from the pile. after the papers are drawn everyone will than set out to buy gifts and make their suprise. a suprise is always in the shape of something the person its gifted to likes. i would get one that looks like a horse for example. its supposed to be a lil challenge to open the suprise. a suprise therefore must contain a poem that leaves hints on how to open it and perhaps what gifts to expect. the suprises are than opened one by one by each family member on the 5th of december, pakjesavond.

thats basically how modern sinterklaas works. there are still more things around it like tv programms, songs, movies, books about the sint and his pieten. sint usually visits primary schools to. and in the last few years of primary schools its common for a class to do suprises

Thanks guys! I'm really sorry they don't sell them where you are! I don't know why they dont expand into the Netherlands and other such places.

Oh, and i also finally came across the fake Schleichs in another store i went to. I was gonna remember the brand name on the tag so i could ask if you guys had seen them, but i ended up forgetting it anyway ugh lol. But they were almost just like Schleich models that are in existence...they had a different tag and no Schleich info on the bellies. I don't know how they got past the copyright deals. At first glance i thought they were Schleich but i quickly noticed something wasn't right. They were cheaper made, the paint job was not as good, but boy they could probably fool someone who was newer to Schleich. Thing is, they were also a good two or three dollars more expensive than the Schleich version as well, so it was a hard pass from me lol. Also, they were mixed in a big tub with some CollectA models that did have the Breyer by CollectA tags. It was a terrible set up cause they were getting all scuffed up together like that. Oh well!

Nope it wasn't Bullyland. It was really cheapy like, the name and tag. But the models...they totally looked like they ripped them right out of the Schleich book.

I have about 20 schleich horses, at least that I can remember.... so I'll try to list a few
Palomino paint horse foal, I don't know what year
2016 appaloosa mare
2016 knabstrupper mare
2016 halflinger mare
2019(I think) trakhener mare
I have 2 of the 2016 friesian mares so one of them I customized
2016 andalusian stallion
2016 andalusian mare and foal
2020 limited edition Tennessee walker mare
2020 limited edition Arabian stallion
2016 hanerovian mare and foal
2020 cocker spaniel dog(who looks exactly like my golden doodle who passed away this year, so I treasure that dog)
And those are all that i can remember
